If DeSantis decides to run, and wins the primaries, he will win. The Democrats have ignored working class people, parents, and women for too long. I don't see many of their policies being particularly on the left. They are just as corporatist as the Republicans, but it is draped in progressive language. Republicans pretend they're patriots, and god fearing, but they're greedy fakers.

Personally, I would prefer DeSantis over Trump or Biden, but I wish both parties would put someone decent in. I don't have to agree with them on everything, but it would be nice to have confidence that the president cares about the country. I am very tired of the bullshit!

Republicans just overturned Roe vs Wade and yet Democrats are the ones that don't care about women?

I'd vote Biden over DeSantis in a heartbeat.  DeSantis is Trump but more competent.  He has gone after companies specifically for their opposition to some laws he supports, cancelling their tax breaks.  While the cancelling tax breaks is a good thing, picking and choosing the companies for this based on their speech is horrifying.  I'd love to see the Republicans run someone based on something other than "no abortions ever" and "a gun for every hand".

DeSantis scares the hell out of me.  He seems a lot like Trump but actually effective at it.  Maybe he'll pivot to something normal in the general election but he seems determined to make half the country hate him.

Between him or Trump I think I'd prefer Trump.

I keep hoping Romney will run again, but DeSantis would beat him too. DeSantis has populist appeal, because ordinary people can see that the elites ignore their concerns. (yes, I know politicians are also elites) DeSantis comes off as an ordinary guy, but not a dumb one.  I will never understand why Trump was a populist, except maybe because he is famous, and had a fake tv show great business man identity. I'm asking for reasons for liking DeSantis, and reasons for hating Biden so much you won't vote for him.  Why are you avoiding the question?  If it was obvious, I wouldn't be asking.

I already told you why I think DeSantis is an awful person but I'll repeat them again.  His views on gun control, racist policies, voter suppression, pushing the lie that Trump won the election, using the government to attack free speech, ant-mask and anti-vax policies that likely costs tens of thousands of lives, anti-abortion, wants to kill Obamacare. 

Biden is pro choice, isn't trying to sabotage vaccines, wants better gun control, isn't trying to kill Obamacare, isn't pushing racist anti-voting policies.

What is Biden doing that is so horrible that you will vote for DeSantis over him?  What policies of DeSantis would make him a better President than Biden?

You might not be having it but most women are.  I don't know a single woman who isn't going to vote for Biden because of his trans views. That sort of extreme thinking isn't even close to mainstream for liberals. In fact anyone I even mention this too just laughs and asks if I'm serious.

DeSantis is worse than Trump. He's just as immoral and self serving but is sane and component enough to do far more damage to democracy.

Sadly this is the Democrats biggest weakness, one-issue voters who will give up everything to die on their hill who are being radicalized by right wing hate. You would rather see DeSantis in power than Biden, and not voting for Biden is how you make that happen.

You live in the Republican's alternate reality where Biden is some kind of radical extreme pro-trans-agenda warrior intent on destroying women because he hates them.

The problem is single issue voters. It doesn't matter whether the party you vote for will push American peoples rights and freedoms back 150 years. It doesn't matter that you'll go from being the greatest nation on Earth to a laughing stock. It wont even matter if your leader has zero issue with mounting an insurrection to usurp democracy or even cozy up to the worlds worst dictators (eg Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un). None of that matters. Or how about separation of church and state? Not anymore - lets follow Saudi Arabia's model. This is the party that wants to save you from the gay and prevent womens right to abortions or contraception. Those other guys want to be friendly to the LGBTIQA+ community. NO WAY MAN!!!!

While some of the things Biden may have said on the topic may be a head scratcher it's hardly worth sending your country to rack in ruin down the shitter and vote for the other team.


It's fucked up how polarized your country has become. Australia not only voted in a government who gives a flying fuck about climate change and foreign relations - we also have a shitload of Greens and Independents in the parliament too and for the first time in a long time, I am hopeful that shit is finally going to get done. As far as I’m aware from other side of the pond (and could be wrong), Desantis isn’t a wannabe mad dictator like Trump and some of the other wingnuts.

However he is a full on climate change denier, who advocates doing absolutely nothing about the biggest threat to all of human civilization (right, left, cis, trans, and anyone and everyone else). 

Trump, Russia, Covid, and all the other shit in the world have done a great job of making people forget about this big pressing issue, but it hasn’t gone away.

Are people seriously talking about Biden running again?  I'll be impressed if he makes it through this term.    He's clearly in a serious decline already.  The democrats need to start building some young blood up for the crown, otherwise the next term will look like Weekend at Bernie's  - though it's difficult to see him have any chance of winning.

Yeah, there are people who think it will be Biden vs Trump again. If that happens, I fear Trump will win this time. I do not want Trump to be president! I do not want Biden, either. I really wish an excellent candidate would rise up through the ranks, but I have no idea who it could be.
