Bob Knodel Death And Obituary
Bob Knodel, the co-host of the popular conspiracy theory YouTube channel Globebusters, has died. News of his death spread quickly on social media and websites, leaving fans and loved ones heartbroken and searching for answers.
While the cause of his death remains unknown, many are mourning the loss of a beloved family member and colleague.

Suggestions & Concerns / Chrome - Sometimes missing the formatting interface

I've been running into this issue intermittently but kind a lot in the past month using Chrome with the site.

Specifically, often lately when I go to Reply to a post, hit "Quote", the whole formatting UI is missing, like this:



If I refresh once, sometimes twice, it comes back to normal:



It's just kind of a bummer because a lot of times I don't notice right away and either put in the manual BBcode or copy what I've written, refresh until I get the interface back, then paste and go about my business.

I'm guessing maybe it's a Chrome issue or maybe a plug-in I have. I've been doing some testing around the latter, but it still happens. Anyone else run into this?

In light of Perseverance landing yesterday, I stumbled up this <5 minute explanation as to why Mars is important to explore.

Dr. Robert Zubrin lays it out threefold back in 2015:

- Mars is where the Science is
- Mars is where the Challenge is
- Mars is where the Future is

It's a pretty cool, impassioned summation. I'm digging it. There are arguments against, mainly, we've got our science, challenges and future here on earth, so why pour resources into the exploration of another planet. But I'm buying into his argument as well. Worth a watch, it goes by quick:

You know that thing where you're writing a message to someone, you hit send or preview, it shows you are logged out and gives you the log-in screen? When writing a post and that happens you just log in, hit the back button and your post is still there. And then you can submit it. But with messaging, what you just wrote is gone. Is there some setting to make messaging behave the same as posting under this scenario and not lose what you had written?

For me, it's a minor and easily forgettable click to check the 'save to sent' box on each PM. My preference is to have it defaulted to checked. I don't know what other's druthers are. If overwhelmingly in favor of changing the default, is that hard?
If no one has that preference, I'll just be more mindful of it.

Is there a way to make an embedded YT video larger? The default here is kinda small, 450x230-ish, and I tend to just launch it on YT rather than in the post. It would be better if it were around 960x590 or the like and I could stay resident in the post. Maybe there's some mark-up that will do this. Unsure.

Betting begins, who is the next to drop out? Each cycle is 7 days, starting with today, oddly, Tuesday. Double points for predicting a 2-fer in the week cycle. We are now in week 1. Put your bet in brackets, e.g., [Week 1 - Bennet] Vitriolic reason: Who? Something like that.

Vitriolic reasons why your pick is doomed is very much appreciated and rewarded.

[Week 1 - Booker] Money. Raising nothing, needs to preserve at least a minimal standing as Junior Senator to remain a senator.

I literally stumbled upon this and really haven't had a chance to research its veracity, but thought it would be of interest.

"One More Orbit is a multinational attempt to break the world record for the fastest circumnavigation of the earth via both poles, in a Qatar Executive Gulfstream G650ER ultra long-range business jet.
The record is being attempted during the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Apollo 11 moon landing, as a tribute to the past, present, and future of space exploration.
The team will launch the record attempt from, and return for the finish to, Space Florida's Launch and Landing Facility (the former Shuttle Landing Facility) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, from where Apollo 11 launched their historic mission 50 years ago. The mission will start at 09:32 EDT – the same time as Apollo 11.
The speed record will be certified by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) and GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™."

Flat Earth General / FET: Why is the distance/diameter of the Planets unknown?

According to the wiki and elsewhere, FET states that the Sun and Moon are approximately 3000 miles away and 32 miles in diameter.

Why is it that the distances and diameters of the planets have not been calculated at all, let alone with such precision, by FET?
