Indeed, there are a lot worse things to spend your money on.  By the way, my scepticism is with the idea of spending money on space "exploration" and engineering, it's with the terrible idea of a mars colony.  Mars would be an appalling place to live, even if were even possible (which it currently isn't).  But I guess we're done with that debate and morons like  Heiwa have come to trash the thread anyway.

I really would rather we set up a moon base.  It's closer, easier to supply and communicate with and lots of science could be done on the 'dark' side.  Leave Mars to the robots, at least until we've managed to completely rule out finding any life, or signs that it used to have life.

Makes a lot more sense.  Would allow the technology to develop to such a point as a manned trip to mars might not be a suicide mission.  Would also be a big push for developing more sophisticated robots with greater autonomy which, lets  face it, will do the bulk of exploring the solar system.

Plenty people have seen UFOs landing in their gardens and have rushed out to welcome the crew. After that they become ufologists and appear on TV. Most of them are stupid Americans. They become famous.
Same people cannot understand that some things bounce when dropped on ground. Such things should make a hole in the ground, according to CIA and FBI.

This has got to be like the only place anyone actually talks to him, I can't imagine random people on the street doing anything but running away in a panic when he starts his crazy nonsense.  Assuming he's let out of his room occasionally.

The same could be said for all the interactions here.  If all the non flat earthers left... the forum would look like the True Believers section, maybe 2-3 threads that get an update once a month with no interaction.  I suspect if the non flat earthers left, nobody would bring up the subject again and it would all be Trump and Biden and the numbers thread.

This guy puts forward why Titan could be a better candidate than Mars to live on however I don' think he fully understand the gravity of the situation regarding the lack of much gravity (see what I did there?) But apart from that, it does seem a better candidate. If we can cheaply construct spinning wheel homes that artificially produce gravity then it might work.

I still like the idea of floating cities in Jupiter's atmosphere.  Can have standard gravity, standard pressure, tempature isn't too bad.

Just have to deal with thousand mile an hour storms!  And radiation.  And whatever sky monsters are lurking down there.
