We could cancel every space program on the planet and it wouldn't put a dent in poverty.  If we took NASA's budget and distributed it to every American citizen, they would each get $60.

Exploring space doesn't cause poverty.  Wealth inequity causes poverty.
Indeed, there are a lot worse things to spend your money on.  By the way, my scepticism is with the idea of spending money on space "exploration" and engineering, it's with the terrible idea of a mars colony.  Mars would be an appalling place to live, even if were even possible (which it currently isn't).  But I guess we're done with that debate and morons like  Heiwa have come to trash the thread anyway.

By the way, just ignore him  - he only posts for attention and if he doesn't get any then he will clear off.

I really would rather we set up a moon base.  It's closer, easier to supply and communicate with and lots of science could be done on the 'dark' side.  Leave Mars to the robots, at least until we've managed to completely rule out finding any life, or signs that it used to have life.
Makes a lot more sense.  Would allow the technology to develop to such a point as a manned trip to mars might not be a suicide mission.  Would also be a big push for developing more sophisticated robots with greater autonomy which, lets  face it, will do the bulk of exploring the solar system.

Is there any independent evidence for Mars landing? Amateur radio operatiors intercepting signal like they did in Apolo program for example or something? Observing rocket with telescope do orbital burn and get smaller and smaller?

Yes, the martians contacted us to tell us it went well.

Going to Mars is fantastic. The inhabitants on Mars haven't bothered to visit us, so we have to invite ourselves. Just look at what we do. Sending some 6-wheel drive jeep to drive around in their gardens. What a stupid joke.

At least the inhabitants might offer some fine Nespresso coffee. What do you offer?

Occasionally the Heiwa virus breaks free and starts spamming other threads. As fun as it is to reply to his nonsense because it's so easy to hand his arse to him you have to wonder if he would simply go away if no one replied to him ever again. Sure he'd spam the other thread trying to bait us to talk as he sometimes does when no one talks on it, but surely he'd tire of even that

This is a guy who believes if a massive asteroid from space landed on your house, that it would bounce off rather than flatten it and cause a hell of a lot of damage. I don't know why people think he can be schooled on anything

Plenty people have seen UFOs landing in their gardens and have rushed out to welcome the crew. After that they become ufologists and appear on TV. Most of them are stupid Americans. They become famous.
Same people cannot understand that some things bounce when dropped on ground. Such things should make a hole in the ground, according to CIA and FBI.
It is like 911. When some arabs landed on the roofs of WTC 1/2 the buildings became dust from top down. The roof crushed everything below by gravity!

This has got to be like the only place anyone actually talks to him, I can't imagine random people on the street doing anything but running away in a panic when he starts his crazy nonsense.  Assuming he's let out of his room occasionally.

The same could be said for all the interactions here.  If all the non flat earthers left... the forum would look like the True Believers section, maybe 2-3 threads that get an update once a month with no interaction.  I suspect if the non flat earthers left, nobody would bring up the subject again and it would all be Trump and Biden and the numbers thread.

This guy puts forward why Titan could be a better candidate than Mars to live on however I don' think he fully understand the gravity of the situation regarding the lack of much gravity (see what I did there?) But apart from that, it does seem a better candidate. If we can cheaply construct spinning wheel homes that artificially produce gravity then it might work.

I still like the idea of floating cities in Jupiter's atmosphere.  Can have standard gravity, standard pressure, tempature isn't too bad.

Just have to deal with thousand mile an hour storms!  And radiation.  And whatever sky monsters are lurking down there.

I still think it is better to invite any UFO/flying saucer crew landing in your garden for a cup of coffee to discuss how they did it. Do they come from the backside of the Moon, or planet Mars or the Jupiter moon Titan? And why did they land in your garden?

So which is going to happen now.

1. Heiwa will admit he made a mistake.

2. Heiwa will add a new page to his web site proving titan is now a moon of Jupiter.

3. Heiwa will just make some completely random nonsense non-sequitur and ignore the whole mess.

I'm pretty sure 1 is not going to happen.  My money is on 3.

Yes Jupiter has many moons and Titan is not one of them. Do you know which planet Titan belongs to?

Less than a month after a US spacecraft landing on Mars, some young scientists have published on Earth a scientific paper about water on Mars >3 billion years ago.  MSM quotes it but you can read about it here - http://heiwaco.com/moontravel.htm#w

A parachute in an atmosphere that's supposed to be 1% of Earth's. A small helicopter working in an atmosphere that's supposedly 1% of Earth's.

And people can't see an y problems with this.

Absolutely baffling to all hell.
Wouldn't that mean something like 1% the lift anf 1% the resistance on parachute?

Luckily humans are pretty clever. We didn't just drop a drone designed for Earth's atmosphere on Mars.

We dropped one designed for the Martian atmosphere.

Nobody says boats are impossible because helicopters can't fly underwater.  ::)
