An insult
« on: April 10, 2017, 01:02:27 AM »
I wanted to say that this forum is an insult to the lives people spent working at NASA and other space agencies. Not understanding something does not mean the more "obvious" or "likely" option is true. If you expect to know how everything works, or think you already do, that is extremely ignorant. Scientific driven agencies strive to increase our knowledge of our place in the universe and people like those on this forum, have no place in that world. You have to accept that there is not one FE model that correctly shows what we observe. However the globe and globe physics explain everything we experience. Do not move this to angry ranting as it is my view on this forum and it should remain in General.

Now that i think of all the heroic geniuses and brave visionaries at NASA, and their selfless sacrifices that made their unbelievable and truly incredible achievements possible, i realise we are all clinging to a spinning, flying and of course slightly wobbling, rock ball.

Been spinning for billions of years, thousands of millions of years.

Thank you, and may i take this opportunity to also thank everyone at NASA, and apologise for insulting them by not believing previously their crazy bullshit.
It is like a finger pointing away to the moon.

They're not the only ones insulted by countless Flat Earth theorists - every physicist, mathematician, geologist, historian and basically scientist of any kind trying to educate people and improve our word has their face spat in every day by pathetic, baseless arguments, blatant lies and painfully oblivious refusal to even entertain millennia of proof against so very obviously flawed theories.

Only the ignorant choose to ignore opposing views.
Fight for your belief, don't run away.
It's the only way anyone can take you seriously.

Imagine this, the earth and everything on it, including us, is shrunken down to the size of a tennis ball. Now rotate that tennis ball at a rate of once per day. From our perspective on the small earth, it would still seem as if the earth was rotating at 1000mph, as speed is measured in relation to other objects, however from outside earth it would be spinning extremely slowly. Combine that fact with gravity, sentrific forces, all of the BS that NASA has said suddenly becomes more understandable. I accept the rest of your apology though.

I think it's great more and more are challenging mainstream science, not only on cosmology but on medicine, psychology, everything.
We need to break up the space monopoly and every other kind of monopoly.
MS science must compete with other science in a freer and fairer market for it to have any sort of legitimacy.

Your analogy of a tennis ball fails in that the speed will NOT be a rotation of ONCE per 24 hours.

Well, Antirockballtheorist, at least we are prepared to describe the shape of the earth and how it moves.
You don't have the guts to describe what you believe, so I have to guess that you ascribe to the usual flat earth that:
  • can't explain the way rhe sun and moon rise from and set behind the horizon,
  • can't explain the directions of sunrises and sunsets,
  • can't explain what determines the times of sunrises and sunsets, that are so easily obtained on the globe,
  • can't explain why the sun and moon do not change in size as they move across the sky,
  • can't explain why the shapes of constellations do not change wherever they appear in the night sky.
  • etc, etc.
What a useless model you seem to have! I'll stick to the rotating Globe that explains all these and much more!
Quote from: Antirockballtheorist
Been spinning for billions of years, thousands of millions of years.

Thank you, and may i take this opportunity to also thank everyone at NASA, and apologise for insulting them by not believing previously their crazy bullshit.
Let's stick to recorded history! The Babylonians did believe in a flat earth,
but had a model of the sun, moon, planets and stars that worked pretty well,
not like you neo-Flatists with celestial objects circling uselessly above the earth that explains nothing properly!

NASA had nothing to do with deciding that the earth is a Globe! Nothing at all.

So, Antirockballtheorist, get off your backside and explain how your flat earth explains all those simple observations.
All you seem able to do is to ridicule everything you see, even things that other flat earthers accept, like Antarctica.

Maybe you should change you name to AntiEverythingSceptic, that seems more fitting.

You are right  ;) of course  ;) about the speed of rotation,
but surely you could have worked out a bit for yourself and found that the tennis ball would only need to rotate at 9.5 rpm.

Hence the analogy of a tennis ball does not fail at all.

Would you really expect anything to fly off a ball only 2.7" in diameter, spinning at less that one third the speed of a LP?
You do know what an LP is?

Like a lego maker and stuff like that or something more complicated that I'm not aware  the so called NASA does?

I guarantee that if at some point a scientist were to see that the earth were flat, they would release it. I have not seen any of that.
That's because no scientists will be able to see that its flat. They may deduce that it's not a ball and be able to prove it.
The problem is, do you give up your job and salary and maybe stance in the scientific community, as well as general, to be cast out as a scientist turned lunatic or worse, or do you just toe the official line and get on with the stuff you know you are allowed to go and delve into?
It's a no brainer really, isn't it?

Now I have given you an answer even though I did ask first. Why do you think NASA is lying to you?

It does not make a mockery. You can't look at one thing at a time, everything is taken into account. Different sizes and perspectives use different units and measurements. The scale of the universe is so large that at different distances things could be seen as moving at incredible speeds, or barely moving.

If I was to place you about 30 miles up into what we are told is as close to a vacuum as to be classed as one, then the Earth would move under you at 1000 mph and you should see that by looking down at it but most of all you will know that it's going at 1000 mph under you because you so called near vacuum has negated the atmospheric drag along on you.

So where does the 1000 mph come from?
1000mph comes from our relative movement compared to other celestial bodies: The sun, other planets, changing angles to stars etc..
I thought 1000 mph was only relevant to us. We invented the mph and we use it to record movement.
Seeing as mph makes a mockery of the official Earth spin garbage with us on it, it gets changed to rp-24hr. Revolutions per 24 hours  ;D
It does not make a mockery. You can't look at one thing at a time, everything is taken into account. Different sizes and perspectives use different units and measurements. The scale of the universe is so large that at different distances things could be seen as moving at incredible speeds, or barely moving.
If your at a germ's level, we people are moving at thousands of nano meters a second, amazingly fast. Where as we would just be getting a glass of water.
Again, this is our mph not a germs.

Answer me a question and answer it honestly.

Would you say this is fair?
Yes, the earth would be moving underneath you at 1000mph and you could see it. Of course space is actually about 62.1371 not 30 miles.
However it would not look like it is moving that fast. If your driving in a car and you look out, things further away seem to be moving slower than things closer to you. Same thing while in space, except your the one looking at the car, which seems to be moving slower than it would if you were closer to it.

Well you will obviously need more education than knowing how to build legos.
Not at NASA you don't. Ability to piece a bit of lego and to count how many pieces you managed to put together seems sufficient overall.

Seeing as in order to get a rocket in orbit you need to have knowledge in aeronautics and advanced physics.
No rockets go into orbit, unless you can diving in to the drink, orbit.

Things which colleges offer for you to take.
For a nice fee and also colleges offer all kinds of nonsense courses.
I believe there's scientists calculating the perfect cup of tea and toast and even pop stars, etc. RIGHT?

You didn't really answer the question. You answered why they would lie, not how you know their lying.
It's not a space agency because space does not exist which means they do not build or send rockets up into so called space.
Models on show for gullible people who are made to believe those models are actual sized real space vehicles.
It's funny and sad at the same time.

What is the proof you have that NASA has lied to us?
3000 ton rockets lifting off a so called launch pad.
Basically all the TV lift off shows showing us these space vehicles, as well as vehicles floating in so called space and landing on so called lumps of rock floating in space.
You know, that type of utter frigging rubbish.
Why don't you think space exists? Is it just earth?
Aeronautics is a science, and other sciences are taught. They provide you with tools such as the correct equations of how the universe works and there are many universities who provide them for not too much money.
Give me the simplest equation that you know of that proves the universe works how you are told.
That is quite a task. We are still searching for a simple equation that sums up the entire universe (Ever seen the "Equation of Everything?) But here are some versions on the equation for how gravity works: Gμν = 8πG/c4 Tμν; F = Gm1m2/r2; g = GM/r2
Here is a link that explains how and why each one works. It also includes some equations I didn't provide: https://www.universetoday.com/56157/gravity-equation/

I'm not interested in what it looks like or what it seems. Just the speed of supposed rotation under you would be close to 1000 mph.

So how about explaining to me in honest to goodness truthful terms from your own mind how Felix Baumgartner went vertical up to 23 miles as we are told and also told it was as close to a vacuum as to be called one and yet it took him 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to his supposed altitude.

Then he jumped into the near vacuum, as we are told and reached a velocity of near 800 mph because of this near vacuum.

Now then, after he lands, he manages to land only 70 miles away from his launch point, as we are told.
The issue is, if he was up there for 1 hour 30 minutes as well as the time taken to fall and parachute to the ground, shouldn't he be further away from the launch site by a bit more than 70 miles?

Let's lop off his fall time and take half an hour off his climb time.
That leaves 1 hour.
Earth rotates at around 1000 mph (approx) as we are told, so should he be landing a minimum of 1000 miles away from his launch site?

Or is there something at play?
Is it that a higher being placed the hell of his sandal against the rotation and slowed it right down to about 50 or 60 mph just for this jump?

Any idea what's happened here because something just isn't right, is it?

You appear quite happy with it so why don't you explain it in simple terms. Break it down for me into manageable sense making.
Please don't argue that it only makes sense to those with extremely high foreheads.
Come on, explain it in your own words or be truthful and say you're just arguing by appealing to so called authority or the pretence of mass opinion.
