Good:
The Midsummer Station by Owl City and
F.L.A.G. (Fight Like a Girl) by Emilie Autumn (the girl in my avvy) will be in my mailbox by Monday.
Bad: With what I've heard from
The Midsummer Station so far, I'm scared this'll be the first Owl City album I don't like...
All Things Bright and Beautiful (his last album) was pretty okay, but I really don't like the new 'generic pop' direction he's heading so far. I like the abstract poetry of
Maybe I'm Dreaming, the complex and huge instrumentals in
Ocean Eyes, or even the carefree naïveté of
Of June. Blegh. Let's hope for the best?

F.L.A.G. has a lot to live up to. Emilie's other album I have,
Opheliac, is my most-listened to album of all-time, and is in competition with
The Airship by Port Blue for the position of my favourite album. So I'm equal parts excited and scared. I don't want her to lose the raw, unrefined edge that she had simply because she's more experienced now. I want it to be crazy, all over the place, while at the same time gorgeous in its atmosphere and moods. I've heard Fight Like a Girl and Time for Tea off of it, and I really hope it leans more toward the latter because that was more unhinged and wild. But we'll see. Please. Dear God I'm excited and scared.
