GeoGuy: Well, how on earth (and on any other planet) can you prove anything to a guy who goes "How are you sure <insert claim here>?"?
Imagine if we tried to prove to you that 1+1 = 2 :
Us: 1+1 = 2, hold one hand up, and hold the other up, and then count how many hands your holding.
You: Oh? How are you sure what "one" is? *holds up one hand* How are you sure I'm holding one hand now?
Us: Well, count how many hands you're holding. How many do you see?
You: And if I say ten?
You see how hard it is?
I have a proposition: I suggest you tell us in this topic what supernovas are to you, what OUR sun is to you, and what a star is to you. Then, maybe THEN, the argument can go on smoothly without "How do you know the sun is <fork>?"
I mean, if you went on doubting everything, then we're not getting anywhere. Like, any RE'er can say "Up close, the Earth looks round", to support their argument, but we don't say that, because IT'S NOT TRUE.
