There were pictures making the rounds a couple days ago of Russian MREs that they were carrying around, and they had best by dates from 2015

I get this feeling that the corrupt people Putin put in place, may have pocketed money and given the army crap....

I'm in an area where we may very well get turned to rubble, and even if not, we'd be covered in fallout very quickly. So my plan for the post-apocalyptic world is to stroll through the fields of Elysium and ask random other dead people "Are you not entertained?!"

Walmart claims to be spending $350 billion on products made, grown, or assembled in the USA. "Investing in the future of U.S. manufacturing", which is great since they helped destroy it in the first place, and are the reason people can't afford to shop at other places.

Simple business

Feel free to open a business where you purchase product for $1 and sell it for $0.50
Your sales would be through the roof.


The locals will save tons of money until you burn the shop down for the insurance.

That's not the way it works.  These were special forces and reconnaissance units who'd infiltrated Kyiv before the fist bombs dropped.  They were probably meant to take out key targets and capture zelensky (or other high value individuals), then be exfiltrated or link up with incoming infantry.  I suspect the idea was that the Ukrainians resistance would have crumbled by then, or something.

Elite reconnaissance units are not meant to survive by robbing convenience stores.  This was clearly a cock-up.

It sounds like a threat to keep Sweden from joining NATO and not a very effective one.  If I were Sweden or Finland I'd be rushing to join NATO as fast as possible.  Russia has proven how dangerous they are and at the same time they're already committed to a war that isn't going as well as they'd like.

Kherson is the first major city to fall in this war.

Ukraine is not requiring anyone that "acquires" Russian tanks or other equipment to report them on their taxes. Some Ukrainian farmer already has a Russian tank listed on eBay for $400k and honestly I hope someone buys it to have a very expensive souvenir while also helping fund the boots on the ground.
