COP26 FFS!
« on: December 07, 2021, 02:27:30 PM »

So despair reigns, do we just turn away, forget our children and carry on regardless?

Jonathan Pie, as usual nails this, and I shall gather my family this christmas, not mention this through shame and probably drink and cry alone.

The part right in the middle where he talks about how it's up to consumers to put pressure on companies is so fucking real. It's just like the plastics industry trying to convince people recycling will solve the plastic in the ocean problem. Most people do not know enough to hold corporations accountable for every ingredient, or every bit of toxic waste they produce. That's what governments are supposed to do.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

All I see is short termism politicians going through the motions, thinking about getting voted back in, dancing to the tune of business and telling us to recycle, which then largely goes in a landfill anyway.

Getting to the stage when I just want to blow things up.

Close enough of a topic.

Great.  Now I have to research how to protect against arsenic winds.

To be fair this has a lot to do with massive population growth.

Huh... so Joe Manchin, the coal mogul, is the chairman of the senate energy committee.

I think that might be a conflict of interest.

Relax folks,  Herschel Walker is on the case..

Herschel on the climate/Green New Deal/air:

"Since we don't control the air our good air decided to float over to China's bad air so when China gets our good air, their bad air got to move. So it moves over to our good air space. Then now we got we to clean that back up."

Kind of a strong case against democracy.

What should we do about climate change, inflation, a world war on the verge of breaking out and the famine that is sure to follow?

I know!  Let's ask the brain damaged ex football player who thinks air decides to go to China to decide!

Is the world going through a regression of expectations? Are the questions, and the answers to those questions so beyond us that we crave simplicity and a mouthpiece, old, infirm, or damaged that can spout a few platitudes whilst we bury our heads. Not that we are sick of experts as Boris said, but sick of trying to not hear what they say?

The COP27 is done, sponsored by a company who produce 3 million tons of plastic packaging a year, infested with big oil companies, agri-business with fossil fuel companies dominating the list of official sponsors, the next round is in the United Arab Emirates who promote their state oil company as a green champion, what could possibly be wrong with this? answers please written in oil-based ink on the skin of a dolphin.

Or the government.
Why would that be inciting terrorism?  Lorddave was merely describing a type of shop we have here in the US, a bomb-gun shop.  A shop that sells bomb-guns.
