If the Sun and Moon aren't dropping below a horizon but just getting further away. Then why dont they all get tiny just before night, and why aren't they absolutely gigantic when they're right over head?
As the sun and moon rise they both give the visual impression of being much larger than they are.

This could be due to the amount of lower level atmoplane through which they are being observed. The amount of water vapor in the atmoplane at these levels could act similarly to a fun house mirror at those distances.

The only experience anyone has in witnessing objects at 35-50 miles across in the sky would be the sun and moon, so it does not surprise me these objects do not appear to get smaller as they cross the sky above us.

As the most renowned RET poster I would like you to clarify some things for me before I give you any more of my time.

Do you have any scientific evidence backing your claim that water vapour will make an object look exactly the same size as it moves away.

What exactly are 'these levels" how high are the levels and what is the amount of water vapour present?

How do you know the sun and the moon reside within 35-50 miles?

Why does it not surprise you that as an object moves far away it does not get smaller?

Remember I'm the most renowned RET poster here so your arguments best be water tight if you want my time.

Theory is theory
So you want to throw all kind of scientific thought out the window?
Science does not deal with proofs.
It deals with disproofs and evidence.
It uses observed facts to disprove or support theories.
The observed facts disprove a flat Earth and support a RE.

If you want proof, go to math and don't try talking about the real world.

There is evidence aplenty already listed at the sites you provide
There is not a single shred of evidence of Earth being flat there.
There are numerous ignorant claims and outright lies which in no way indicate that Earth is flat.

claim to be ABLE somehow to explain as to why that evidence could not possibly present as such in an environment you DENY EXISTS to begin with...
You seem to like repeating this nonsense as if it should mean something.
Just because we realise a FE is pure fictional nonsense, that doesn't mean we can't understand how such a world would appear.

I already wrote here in this very thread the sun and the moon DO NOT appear the same size at ALL TIMES as they traverse the sky.
And like so often you run off on a tangent or blatantly misrepresent the problem to pretend it isn't one.
The OP is discussing the lack of change in angular size of the moon/sun during a 24 hour period.
You failed to provide that and instead focused on the variation over the course of a month.

This variation doesn't support your case, it further shows it to be BS.
It shows that traversing over the entire Earth over the course of a day has no significant change in distance while the distance changes significantly throughout a month.
This shows that the moon must be quite far away, significantly more than the size of the Earth, rendering the FE model as pure nonsense.

What is atmoplane
The earth is a flat plane and there is no "atmosphere."

Wait, there's no atmosphere?! I GOTTA GO FIND SOME OXYGEN QUICK BEFORE I DIE!!! MY LIFE IS A LIE!!!
You call it an atmosphere because in your mythical world it is spherical in shape.

I call it an atmoplane because it covers a flat plane.

To can still call it an atmosphere because the dome.

That is some strange and powerful schitt you have been drinkin' AND smokin' on the upside down side of your mythical ball there, ...
I asked you for proof or evidence and you refused to provide any, case closed.
And you still refuse to explain how you magic lantern sun stats the same size.
I directed you to locations of the evidence and you still deny it...

I already wrote here in this very thread the sun and the moon DO NOT appear the same size at ALL TIMES as they traverse the sky.

And for a fact, that is true.

You (Lack) do realize that your request for RE "proof", whether accepted or not, has been provided in the same format as your FE  "proofs".

All I can suggest is for you to get a suitable solar filter for your camera (if it hasn't got 60x zoom borrow one that has) and take you own photos.

But, other than a littler distortion when close to the horizon, the angular size of the sun does not vary from sunrise to sunset!

Umm, the original question is answered in the first post?

The sun does a number of things at sunset. It stays the same size as at high noon, retains the same perfectly circular shape, and continues its straight path from east to west, continuing below the horizon.

If the Earth were flat with a hovering ball sun on a wide circle flight path at a fixed distance above the flat earth, at sunset it would do three things. It would shrink in size from its size at high noon to a very large star high above the horizon, it would stay high above the horizon in the sky, and trail off to the viewer's right, as it continues it's arc.

As a hovering spotlight, the sun would do the same, with the exception the circle at high noon would flatten out to a horizontal glowing line by sunset instead of a large star.
For the overall shape of Earth to be flat, requires billions of people and billions of pieces of information about Earth to be wrong. Do the maths.

Oh, I'm sorry, I should have added a couple of other things the sun is observed to do. You can look at sunset and sunrise without damaging your eyes as would happen at noon or most any other time of day, the sun causes reds, pinks, oranges, and yellows in the sky surrounding the sun at sunset, and the sun loses the heat in its sunlight between noon and sunset.

On the flat earth models, you wouldn't be able to look at the sun at sunset as it stays high in the sky and intensity would be unchanged, by staying at the same altitude the sun would not produce new colors in the sky, and its light even in large star size should still be hot.

Even on a flat earth, the sunlight would need to travel greater distances through the atmosphere causing diffraction as it is moving away on its magical circular path.

Typically people do not look directly at the sun during sunset and sunrise. It is still quite bright and can still damage your eyes. The main advantage is that the short range wavelengths are scattered a lot, and I think that applies to UV as well.

If you just take a simple approach, the the sun for the RE should remain the same intensity as the distance is basically the same. Meanwhile for a FE the distance is more than doubled (at least for someone where the sun passes directly overhead) and thus the intensity would be cut down to 1/4. If you want to have it as a spotlight, then it becomes more complex as they don't emit light equally in all directions so it could be even less.

What is the real killer is the atmosphere.
For both RE and FE the sun passes through a lot of atmosphere.
So you would need to compare the effects for that and how much atmosphere it goes through.

The atmosphere is the real killer.

For the round earth at sunset, the sunlight is passing through 120 miles of low earth atmosphere due to the perpendicular angle across the round surface you are viewing the sun from. For the flat earth model, the sunlight is passing through far less low earth atmosphere due to it remaining high. Hence, the flat earth sunlight shouldn't be much weaker than at noon.

Besides, it's possible to directly watch the same sunset twice in one day. Find yourself a very tall building like the Burj Khalifa. Watch the sunset from the bottom, and just after it sets, race inside, jump in the elevator and go straight to the top floor. From the top floor if you are fast enough, you will be able to watch the same sunset again.

Because, of the curvature of our round earth.
For the overall shape of Earth to be flat, requires billions of people and billions of pieces of information about Earth to be wrong. Do the maths.

No, looking through another object that cuts down on the amount of light being received reducing the glare so you can see the actual apparent size rather than just a bunch of glare.

It is absolutely crazy to consider evidence as proof, but that is usually the stance roundies take.
Not for everyday use of the word proof. For that, evidence is fine if it is conclusive enough.
There is enough evidence for any reasonable person to conclude that Earth is round.
That is proof in the common use of the word.
