Honestly, it's not worth a moment of your short life. You're never going to make a dent. The impact you can have is on the people you meet, in their lives. In truth, you can wade through an ocean of information for years and at the end, you will be fortunate if you have not permanently lost your mind. There are few who can do this and still manage to live a semi-normal life afterward.

I partially agree with that post, only I think the world isn't as good as you're saying. "They" is everyone, and the weird ass world we made for ourselves. Even those higher up are acting out of human nature. It's kinda perverted but people in general are kinda perverted given the right circumstances.
