Conspiracies, the government, and everything else.
« on: August 29, 2017, 11:42:08 PM »
Honestly, it's not worth a moment of your short life. You're never going to make a dent. The impact you can have is on the people you meet, in their lives. If you know all there is to know, you will see that we live in the same world we have always lived in. Kings, queens, priests and secret societies, the poor and the rich, the ebb and flow of good times and bad times and yes, the eternal struggle of good vs. evil. The internet is a powerful tool. But just as it can be used to spread truth, it can also be used to spread lies. If you are not keen to tell the difference, there's no knowing what you will believe and how this false information might corrupt your thinking.

In truth, you can wade through an ocean of information for years and at the end, you will be fortunate if you have not permanently lost your mind. There are few who can do this and still manage to live a semi-normal life afterward.

My recommendation to the average person: don't try it.

Obvious concern troll is obvious.

All it takes is one great man (or woman) and two massive balls to change the world.

Why would that be inciting terrorism?  Lorddave was merely describing a type of shop we have here in the US, a bomb-gun shop.  A shop that sells bomb-guns.

Things become a lot clearer when you realize one important fact:  there is no "they".

We live under this delusion that somewhere, somehow, "they" are pulling the strings.  "They" are anesthetizing us with bread & circuses.  "They" are killing our free spirits, "they" are making us slaves to the machine, "they" are hypnotizing us with little glowing screens...

But there is no "they".  The premise is faulty.  Bread is nourishing; circuses are fun.  The "machine" is just one side of an unprecedented prosperity for unprecedented populations.  It's not perfect, but it's not a plantation presided over by the nefarious "they".

I think it's liberating but maybe scarier to live in a world without a "they" because who does that leave responsible?

Yeah.

I partially agree with that post, only I think the world isn't as good as you're saying. "They" is everyone, and the weird ass world we made for ourselves. Even those higher up are acting out of human nature. It's kinda perverted but people in general are kinda perverted given the right circumstances.

Generally I stay out of it.  But lately you seem to be in a phase where you're incapable of discussing anything honestly or in good faith, so maybe when this phase has passed you'd like to take issue with what I actually said.

In the meantime, the misquoting and melodramatic copy-paste and teenage internet-kid jargon are a waste of time and getting a bit ridiculous.  I know you are better than this
