Hypothesis not Theory

Technically speaking the "Flat Earth Theory" can't actually be considered a theory and is only yet a hypothesis

"A hypothesis is an attempt to explain phenomena. It is a proposal, a guess used to understand and/or predict something. A theory is the result of testing a hypothesis and developing an explanation that is assumed to be true about something."

And there is no proof of any kind that the Earth is flat, and all the testing that has been done has not been put under criticism from actual scientists

"Theory" is just a word globs use to hide their ignorance of a principle of induction. In reality it has no logical basis and should be looked at with extremely prejudice.
If you a't argue both ides, yu understand neither

So how would you disprove the "Theory of Universal Gravitation" considering it has been verified locally by probably a hundred or so independent experiments (I have brief results on over 50) and seems consistent with what is observed at least within the Solar system.

Sure, some might want to unnecessarily drag in GR, but locally even tiny corrections for GR are rarely needed.
GR is usually not needed till we get into Cosmology (and maybe particle physics), and they're way above my pay grade.

Sig worthy.
Why would that be inciting terrorism?  Lorddave was merely describing a type of shop we have here in the US, a bomb-gun shop.  A shop that sells bomb-guns.

Why don't you ban all the round earthers? Then you guys could talk "science" with no shilling or derailing?

Because, then we would be like Eric Dubay's site.

Even if it was put forth, it would most likely be laughed at and kept on a shelf somewhere, maybe used as a paper weight. It would be interesting enough to see the FE movement gain so much momentum that a serious study was demanded to be conducted by the population and preformed by modern and accredited scientist. I think the results would be comical at best.

This thread seems more like Troll bait however then an actual discussion. When people throw out "ITS ONLY A THEORY/HYPOTHESIS" people tend to think that takes away merit from actual scientific results and they get all angry and hot headed. This thread seems to be a decent example of such squabbling.
