Yay! I love moving. Or maybe I just loved moving out.

Speaking of which, it's worse than I thought. This is the first time I've truly looked into my mother's filth with the eyes of a professional cleaner. It's terrible. I only spent 2 hours there today, but I threw away 6 heavy-duty, black trashbags. And none of it was mail, I made sure to ask her about the more sensitive things before trashing them. One drawer in her kitchen was devoted to fake money and McDonald's toys from my childhood. I couldn't believe that stuff was still there.

I've taken 'before' pictures, but they're so embarrassing that I'll only post them if the 'after' shots are satisfactory.

I don't know how anyone can live like this. I came home and cleaned for another 1 1/2.  :(

Not much. I've been throwing away her trash for years for free. I just need to throw the stuff away so I can get under and clean properly. I'm hoping the before and after shots help me put a price on it.

Not much has happened but I'm bored so I'm going to tell you about it anyway.

The flirty little swimming instructor was not at the pool today. In fact it was kind of empty.
I felt like I had a good swim. I was trying to press my chest down a bit more which in turn should help bring my feet up. I did feel faster but to a casual observer I doubt you could notice any difference at all.
I had a strange craving for a can of coke. I rarely drink coke but today is warm and I just wanted something cold and fizzy. I'm enjoying it now and burping liberally.
I thought I felt a small bead of sweat run down the back of my neck a few minutes ago, but as I went to wipe away the tickle I was mortified that I'd picked up a spider on the way to the shop and its squished body was now wriggling on my fingers. I hate spiders. I'm fine now, but the spider hasn't pulled through.

I start a new job soon as a "Community Manger" for a company that deals with some pretty high profile clients.  I'm not at liberty to share who, but it is video game related and I'm VERY excited about this.  Seems to be full time gig and at $9 an hour I'll be pulling in about twice a month what I was making with the shithole part time retail gig I have now.

Soon I will be drunk with power AND alcohol.

For the amount of downtime the job has, I'm surprised that it even starts at $9 an hour.  It's a blessing, and this kind of job comes with inherent connections.  Say hello to free expo tickets.

Wow. That would put you at slightly above half minimum wage here.

I'm feeling pretty ill. :(

I didn't sleep well. Cold sweats, then freezing cold, then boiling hot. And this morning my stomach feels like its doing somersaults. Add to this that yesterday I was really working on pressing my chest into the pool whilst I swam, my back muscles today are in bits. So my whole middle is in complete agony. I can't get comfortable and I feel as weak as a kitten. I'm eating soup now, having passed up lunch. I haven't even the energy to torment Saddam, which is most unlike me.

Oh and thanks.

National minimum wage here is $8.  $9 an hour, plus the fact that I'll be there for roughly 40 hours a week, will be just fine with me.  Especially considering probably half the time I'm at work will be spent playing video games during the downtime.

Sorry to use this place for a vague whiny post, but how come every single time I start to feel good and optimistic about life, something has to happen to make me feel absolutely miserable? Why does life suck and why do I bother? Fucking fuck. :'(

Well life can't be good forever. It's full of both terrible and awesome.

I don't know what happened but you'll work through it just like you have with everything else in your past. You just have to learn how to deal with shit.

Yeah, I know it can't be good forever, but I don't even seem to get a damn day to feel good. Whenever I start feeling happy, whenever I finally think my life might have a track, within the next 24 hours someone or something has to make something happen. I figure I've got things wrong with my brain that need a psychiatrist anyway; don't know if I'm destined to be miserable or what. Asdgfjdky

Are you comparing that to the cost of living in both your areas?

Obviously they're not. Aussies are always complaining on reddit that videogames are about $120, completely ignoring the fact that they make more money. Cost ratio is still slightly better for Aussies, but it's not too dissimilar to our own.
