That was neither clever nor funny.
It was not meant to be funny, nor did I think it was particularly clever. Its the same for my Dad when he tries to go back and drive cars from when he was young. Its more work, its less refined, and its much more jarring. Its akin to time traveling, exploring what it used to be like.
Now you can come back and say that you knew what i meant, but I would argue that saying "it wasn't funny" is a clear indication that you did not understand i was being serious. Playing with old toys, eating old food, reading old books, these are what many would call tools to time travel. The experience can be quite jarring when compared to today's standards.
As for the clever bit, its hardly an original idea to call experiencing older things "time traveling," i have heard it many times before and would not think of claiming it to be original.
