Current file is bugged. Can't get anywhere near the Karthspire without a crash.

As entertaining as it was to be a Vampire Lord, I loaded an earlier save point and decided to be a loyal member of the Dawnguard.  Also, I wish I hadn't cured myself of being a werewolf.  Catching that vampire disease and constantly having to cure myself is going to be annoying.

Do you have to start a new character for this or can you keep your guy from the main game?

You can keep your old one.  It's basically a new faction questline, but the quests you do differ depending on which side you join.

Is there a new level cap? Please tell me there's a new level cap with the new skill trees, so I don't have to start a whole new file to use them.

No, you don't get perks from leveling up, you get them from killing people in your transformed state.

Is there a PC version of Dawnguard? All I can seem to find is Xbox related articles.

It's good.  I recommend that everyone get it.  Well, everyone except for Blanko, as he has suddenly decided that now he hates the game.

I don't hate it, I'm just presenting critique. I'm just sick of all the kids hailing it as the best RPG of all time although it has a gargantuan amount of flaws that make it decent at best.

I've never understood why a lot of people thinking it's incredible would affect your view of the game at all. Then again I guess that's how everything popular becomes seen as overrated and it becomes cool to trash it.

You made it sound like you speak so harshly of it recently because you're "sick of all the kids hailing it as the best RPG of all time although it has a gargantuan amount of flaws that make it decent at best".

I don't think I've spoken harshly of it. I've only presented valid critique. People here have even agreed with me, people who still play the game. That is not being "harsh", that's just being realistic about the game's flaws and not overlooking them due to fanboyism or whatever.

I speak "so harshly" of it because it's simply not that great of a game. It's an enjoyable game and I've played it for over 80 hours -- and during those 80 hours I learned that you pretty much see everything in Skyrim in the first 5 hours. Most of the game might as well have been randomly generated and nobody could tell the difference. My view of the game stems purely from the game itself, and that in turn has made me wonder why people give it so much praise. Not the other way around.

I recently uninstalled it and started playing Fallout 3 again. I really wish Bethesda wouldn't change their control schemes with each game.

Joy, a game where they screwed up the ending and then made you pay for a patch to fix it.

Started playing again.  Just went through the Guild missions (almost done).  It was definitely interesting considering I have no stealth to speak of.  Had to blast my way through with destruction mostly.  It would have been more fun had I been a thief.

I'm still working on my first play through. I haven't picked a side yet, or done the Elder Scroll bit. I think I'm almost to the point where I should do one of those.  I'm in the middle of the Dark Brotherhood questline, and there are still a few more word walls to be found.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

This is Serana, the most important new character the update introduces:

She becomes your follower fairly early in the questline, and pretty much everyone who's already playing Dawnguard is in love with her.  I strongly suspect that in time she may well challenge Paarthurnax's place as the most popular character of Skyrim.
