I did some lurking around and saw no thread on a documentary called Encounters at the End of the World by Werner Herzog (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encounters_at_the_End_of_the_World). I didn't give it much thought when I saw it a while ago because I thought it sucked. The doc was shot at this place called McMurdo Station and there seemed to be quite a few people living there. What's FES's take on that?
Also, what about an experiment like this: two teams of people go to the south pole simultaneously but departing from different continents. One from S. America, one from New Zealand. If they all end up meeting at the south pole and have tea, granted the time of arrival of two teams being within reason. Wouldn't that be helpful to proof the earth is round? Say someone has lots of money to blow, would he/she be able to do such thing?
