...and is heading towards other parts of the Pacific:

I wouldn't say an earthquake of 8.9 magnitude is common in Japan.

No school for me today because of the tsunami warning. I think the warning is a bit hyped up where I am in California, but things certainly look bad in Japan.

I know here in Vancouver, BC we're looking at 2-3ft waves.  Apparently Hawaii got up to 6ft waves.
I don't know what you're implying, but you're probably wrong.

Weather Channel says Hawaii got a lot of activity near Maui. Also, more than 200 bodies now have been found off the coast of Japan, but there are certainly more.

We're supposed to get waves 7 feet high here, within the hour.

And so the evacuation of my town begins. I guess it's a good sign that the evacuation center is behind my house.

No wonder everyone else detests you so much.

EDIT: There are people who believe HAARP is the cause of these recent massive earthquakes. Interesting.

I heard that there are 88,000 people missing and thousands are confirmed dead, not sure of the exact number. Also, aftershocks keep hitting Japan after the initial earthquake of 8.9 magnitude. Almost the whole of Japan is affected.  :-\

It could have been a lot worse, what with the density and infrastructure of Japan. I'm just glad they had good architects design those buildings.

Sorry but I find both of those reports a bit exaggerated.  I heard a report Godzilla let a fart go and that was to blame, but I don't believe everything I read.

Also, wtf is California evacuating now for?  Do they think the San Andreas fault line is going to collapse?

Apparently two nuke plants in the area lost their cooling systems, and the backups never worked in the first place. They're looking at two potential meltdowns if they can't get back in control.

california is on warning, not evac, but if the nuclear meltdown happens, we are advised to evacuate.

furthermore, if you want to make jokes about this, please put it in the random musings, this is sad and tragic.
10+ feet of waves and 12+ aftershocks is devastating.
