Why do RE believers come here?

I was just wondering why do so many RE people come to this forum and talk all that ish all the time with their stupid insults and empty challenges? Then something hit me, RE'rs are not sure themselves about the shape of our world, so they are intrigued by the flat earth theory. They are too proud to admit that flat earth makes perfect sense, so they come to this forum and talk garbage. Hey guys guess what? If you think FE is a dumb idea and that only idiots believe in it, guess what it makes you when you join this forum and reply in every thread?  ::)

I joined due to boredom. The tail end of the summer holidays, shit all going, so I decided to sign up. Made about 80 posts in the upper fora, stopped posting for about 8 months, then dredged up my old account and started posting again, mainly in the lower fora. I believe the earth is round, but personally I don't give two shits what shape the earth is. I am much more interested in the people and events on this world than
its shape. Don't know if that's specifically relevant, but it's basically my time here.

No because I'm trying to educate you. Let me give you an example; It is a scientific fact that a milk comes from a cow right? It is an established scientific fact that even children know to be true. Now if there was a forum somewhere on the internet that disputed that theory and stated that milk actually comes from the sky and not from a cow, would you join that forum and debate those people?

Of course when I say milk I mean the type of milk that most people consume on a regular basis, not goat milk or anything exotic like that lol. Talking about your regular supermarket milk.

To be perfectly honest with you guys, I don't blame the RE'rs at all. I guess some of them are extremely bored, unemployed, sexless, many other social tragedies. If the admins of this forum believe that its perfectly cool to make a mockery out of their own theory by letting RE trolls invade this message board, then by all means, after all this is not my site.

I'm beginning to agree with those who stated that this was a troll forum. Because if the flat earth society was for real, they would never allow this type of non sense on their message board.

There are certain advantages of having REers join and converse and challenge theory at TFES. 

To have FET tested by the best of RET only makes us stronger as they present their evidence, theories, and knowledge and this consistently falls short of the same presented by FET also displaying that the knowledge part in FET is stronger since there are truths that RET is lacking.

A good starting point would be the threads about Zeteticism for example.  Compare that with the scientific method that has hypothesis testing at its core and it will start to make sense!

I have seen some threads like that, and have never seen any examples of zeteticism providing an answer that the scientific method could not. Even you, when asked directly numerous times could not point to such an example.

Seeing as how you were an RE'er prior to coming here and having your eyes opened, is this how your life was before being an FE'er?

I've never had any of my employers ask me whether I believe in a flat or round earth, so I don't see how being an FE'er would lead me to more gainful employment.  As far as sex goes, I've never tried to seal the deal by telling a girl what shape I believe the Earth to be, though I can't imagine one would be more successful than the other.

If this is what your life was like before, I can understand why you'd seek friendship on an internet forum.

My own Zetetic proofs are currently relegated to a box where I collect my data but I will lurk the site and try to help you find the evidence.  

I must give credit where due and admit that scientists make better mimes that Zeteticists.  A scientist can do 'the wall' or the 'trapped in a box' to their hearts content.  In fact, the scientific method is quite aligned the mime craft.  A hypothetical wall to palm or box to be trapped in is possible in science because you can pretend these things.  The Zetetic must actually feel the wall or the sides of the box to make it real.

Most RE believers come here because they're bored, or because they enjoy a certain aspect of the forum.

This thread is a good example of why "RE believers" come here, since everyone in this thread (so far, anyway) believes in a spherical Earth.

i joined because i read about it in a book and in the book was the link. i find the theory intresting in many ways. it does make a good conversational topic when i see my friends once a year, maybe this decade when i get laid i can try and use FET as a chat up line, perhaps it may even happen twice (if im very lucky)

I would never join this forum if I thought that flat earth theory was ridiculous. I came here to educate myself and learn about flat earth theory. Most RE folks come here to mock, ridicule and insult, this is a terrible thing for the society. Even flat earthers here attack each other constantly, thus I was called a "new fag" uncalled for, but what did the admins do about it? Nothing!

May be FES does not care about the growth of their movement, because many people come here, witness the childish non sense and never come back. I'm sure that a lot more people would take FE seriously if the forums were less juvenile and less hostile. The trolls and mockers make it extremely discouraging for anyone who wishes to learn the theory to stay.
