DOS Games
« on: May 25, 2010, 10:43:25 PM »
So, I was looking around at DOS games just now, and stumbled across this

Discworld

It's an adventure game too, just like the style of Monkey Island and Simon the Sorcerer...I've seen Discworld mentioned here a few times, so I thought I would maybe spark someones memory or show you something new.

DOS games are win, if you don't like them STFU and GTFO my thread.

Also, the title is DOS games, so go ahead and suggest more for me to try out, as I'm currently looking.

you cant see moutains because you have no eyes

Doom

Though, don't play it on DOS.  Play it with ZDoom.

Discworld is as hard as nails. Some of the puzzles make no sense.

DOS games are awesome!  Here are a few good ones I used to play, and sometimes still do!

Syndicate, Alone In the Dark (one of the first 3d games), Z, Quake, Warcraft (the original RTS), Slicks.

I could go on....

Zork is a pretty good text-based adventure.

Discworld is as hard as nails. Some of the puzzles make no sense.

I think that's the point. The entire franchise is built to be humorous.

It's not very funny either.

The early Discworld books are classics, especially the first two. Some of the later ones seem to hint at burning out, though.

Please note that many of the games stated in this thread cannot be actually run under DOS because there is not enough memory.
