Where does the sun come into play? Why doesn't the outer ice melt?

The lack of sunlight that reaches those areas.

Explain a sunset on a flat earth.
The sun's rays bend upwards in a parabolic arc. When the sun moves farther away the arc will cause the sun to appear lower in the sky. I found these answers by using the forum's search function. Next time use it yourself please.

If you bothered to use the search function more thoroughly, Wilcox, you would have noticed that I have provided a disproof of this idea in another recent thread and someone else kindly supplied a diagram to illustrate the disproof in the same thread. So no, your answer has been shown to be bullshit.

You haven't disproven anything. The only thing you have done is discredit yourself by needlessly swearing at me.

Light travels in a straight line.
You're talking about science fiction dear.

Fact one: Yes, I have disproven it by showing how it absolutely conflicts with observed phenomena.
Fact two: I swore at your answer, not you. And swearing does not automatically render my data less valid.

Technically even with gravitational lensing the light is travelling in a straight line - the curve you see is the curve of spacetime itself being bent by a massive gravitational field. Within that spacetime, light is travelling in a straight line. Outside it, relative to us, we can see a curvature. This is why gravitational lensing is such a good proof of General Relativity - that's an effect it predicted before it was ever observed.

Still need an explanation on why the earth is a disc and everything else is round.

Not everything else is round. Planets are spheres and the earth is not a planet.
Why do you believe all other planets are spheres... thats very controversial of yourself, if the earth being round is a conspiracy, how could you not think every bit of knowledge taught to you is fake? You see, i'm not saying that i completely know that the earth is round, because i have not uncovered it myself. It once was a "fact" that the earth was the center of the universe. So "facts cannot be trusted, but neither can guesses. There is no proof that the earth is flat, and the only way YOU and I can truly find out, is through ourselves. But don't claim that the whole world are liars and if you haven't discovered it for yourself. Read the book Sophie's World, it questions everything you know.
