I'm sure someone has an excuse for it.

If I remember correctly they claim SSO was part of the conspiracy

If it proved the Earth were round then it would have to be a part of the conspiracy if you believed in that kind of thing.

That is the stupidest statement ever... in that case nothing could ever prove the FE model wrong

That's why they can't be convinced.

To believe in a flat Earth, one would have to have a very strong belief.  This is because they are consistantly bombarded with information that suggests the contrary.

You won't be able to shatter someone's beliefs by simply poking holes in it; we've seen this from religions that have lived on for many centuries.  People will allow an amount of leniency when it comes to things like this.  Someone will not be able to convince a person contrary to their beliefs until they utterly defeat them.  And even then, some might not accept it.

Either way Meph, it is a failure as far as logic is concerned, and if no logic is gonna be used in the argument, I am just as happy to go pull up 1000's of images of a round earth, despite them all being accounted for as inadmissable

CrimsonKing, please put yourself in the opposing viewpoint for a split second.

Accepting the FE's world, suppose the conspiracy was apparently broken and scientists started proving that the Earth was flat.  New pictures start sprouting up everywhere of the apparently now "true" Earth.

Knowing everything you do about a round Earth, would you really accept this information?  You've known the Earth was round for many years, and pictures of this "real" Earth sprout up.  Would you not take them to be faked and apart of some misinformation?

This is essentially how FE'ers view it:  they know that the Earth is flat, so information suggesting otherwise has to be faked.

As a sidenote, if it seems like I am calling you closed minded, that is not the intention.

If that were to happen, I think that the world's shape would be the least of my concerns

And with that example, I do not think I would accept the world being flat,  I think me, along with many others would sail for the ice wall (which under my reasoning would be unprotected, due to no need for a conspiracy).  That being said, if i actually found the earth to be flat, I do not know what i would think, but I'd say since the vast majority of information is on the RE side, I tend to gravitate tward that

Well, the men behind SSO are probably hyper-wealthy fatcats with everything to gain from hiding the shape of the Earth. I imagine they have their fingers deeply in the Government's "global" warming pie, so to speak, and would hate to see the public depose them and prevent them eating from the pie.

Hell, they probably DO HAVE AN ACTUAL SPACESHIP which they can use to escape once pollution melts the wall and destroys humanity.

Scientists will never come out and say that the Earth was flat all along. Guess why?

This conspiracy of yours... It very much contradicts with wars. There would not be war if all nations were having a common secret. Especially such a secret as the Shape of the Earth. Nations would blackmail other nations with the argument of uncovering the secret. It would have been chaos. And, believe it or not, wars are not fake.

Besides, governments would win nothing on clouding  the "truth" about the Earth being flat.

And you don't even take into consideration the amount of scientists that exists in this world. Nor do you take into consideration the amounts of blackmailing that would circulate,  if men - scientists or not - were aware of such a secret. It would cause internal chaos in the government systems. Not realistic.

Of course, another argument would be that you have no proof, but of course you do. It's just invisible to RE'ers.
