The problem seems to be that FE'ers (more specifically zeteticists) have a different version of facts and how to arrive at them. This is why most RE'ers see them as delusional.

True enough, but many of them claim to be.

Since you seem so interested in arguing semantics would it help if I said that for all intents and purposes, so far as the issue applies to the question at hand, FEers know that FE has been proven?  You and I just frame it as belief because we disagree with them; FEers don't see it as a belief, but as the truth, period.

I only argue semantics because, in this case, it makes a significant difference... am I right?

Rather than framing FET as a belief because I disagree with it, if FErs feel that it is not even necessary to objectively view their own truths, I think it would be safe to classify flat earth theory as a belief system rather than a scientific theory... No?

Of course, but the same applies to RET.

I disagree, the fact that the earth is round has been proven countless times by scientific standards. Whereas FET does not even meet FE'ers own definitions of 'fact'.

That picture (and millions similar to it) was taken by a spacecraft in orbit around earth and clearly shows that it is round. Proof enough for the rest of the world.

A simple search turns up many more such proofs, such as these:
http://www.physlink.com/education/askexperts/ae535.cfm
http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/415/you-say-the-earth-is-round-prove-it

The search function on this site will also turn up many examples of round earth which meet scientific scrutiny, I suggest you try it.

How does a picture constitute as a scientific standard?

How about the preponderance of evidence?

how about the fact that it is a photograph of earth. Generally when you take photo's its of something that exists. Call me silly for that assumption. ever heard of the phrase pix or it didn't happen? what do you want a time stamp from NASA? also what about the live footage from the ISS. explain that

Pictures can be easily faked by skilled shoopers. Saying it's live footage doesn't actually make it live footage.

It could be fake. You haven't shown that it is. By that logic anything could be fake. The existence of atoms could have been faked.  and what about the conversations between people on earth, and the cosmonauts. GL with that one

How many folks are familiar with Eratosthenes and his theory of light angles? Why is this not even mentioned in the "science" section of the main site?

Watch the video and try it yourself.

Then keep in mind that this man did the experiment in 200 BCE using sticks. You can perform the same experiment with a friend who lives a few hundred or even thousand miles north of you via the internet today.

There is no reason to think that every single one of NASA's pictures is fake except out of the desperation of clinging to belief in a flat earth. When your theory involves denying evidence from vast realms of science, you know it's pretty screwed up.

don't worry within our lifetime hopefully lower orbit space travel will become for frequent. maybe not casual, but if people not in the government do what NASA has done, this theory will cave in.

Sadly I don't think that will do any good. No doubtably Tom Bishop will go up in the first launch and then come back claiming they tried to bribe him into saying he went to space.

Or he'll simply say that the windows were high-def television screens and they actually never launched.

what if they put him in a suit, and opened the cover? sure it would end his life, but he'd get his evidence for one way or another

well he should be fine if NASA is fake.
he would still live if they were at high altitude long enough for him to put his helmet back on
