Translation I haven't thought up a magical way that a force originating lightyears away could propel the Earth at an apparently constant velocity despite relativistic effects on time, dimensions and mass.

What I meant to contradict was "So you will be completely unable to move". That is incorrect. You can always keep accelerating.

Good. So you can always keep accelerating. But according to GR, which you understand, the closer you get to the speed of light the heavier you become regardless of gravity or gravitation. So the force that would keep the earth accelerating with 9.81 m/m^-2 is of infinite proportion.

But because of time dilation, we don't need to maintain that acceleration according to an inertial frame of reference, only to our accelerating frame of reference. We can accelerate at 9.8 m s-2, but to someone we passed a year ago, it will look like we are barely accelerating at all.

There is no point arguing this. One inertial frame of reference cannot travel at the speed of light relative to another. So if the earth is accelerating for an infinite amount of time, it will approach the speed of light relative to another inertial frame of reference regardless of which in the universe you choose. Thus earth will become increasingly heavier and would have to be propelled by a force infinitely powerful.

So the question is, what constitutes the force, and more importantly, what fuels the source?
