Here's a question...

First of all, doesn't this entire forum violate the "you shall not post anything false" rule listed when we register?  Secondly, are you all out of your f****ng minds?????

Hopefully, the jibe about humor referred to him seizing on my accidental classification of two questions as one and not him replying yes or my asking of the questions.

What terrestrial-based experimental evidence can you bring to the table demonstrating a round earth?  ???

Define "terrestrial-based experimental evidence".  Also, can someone please point out to me where  the Bible references a flat earth?

Holy shit, most jibber jabber run-on sentence I've read in my life.  It's almost impossible to understand.  Your first question is what I'm referring to as your old humour.

Sorry, I'm not a dictionary.  Try googling the seperate terms and putting together a definition for yourself if you can't figure it out.  ::)

As to your second question, it hardly matters around here.  Most of us hardcore FEers are atheists.

I'm sure Tom Bishop can, but why would you use the bible as a reference for anything other than stupidity?

Actually... If you want to be technical (and it appears that you do), he's correct. He didn't say "I have only one question." Please learn to treat the n00bs in such a way as not to cause them to respond to correct you.

However, you, Roundy the One and Only, are apparently not an atheist, considering the signature/quote you have about Scripture's truth.  I'm waiting...

Also, exactly what did Magellan and his crew and/or Wiley Post accomplish with their "round-the-world" journeys?

I mentioned the Bible because, at least as far as I know, the modern flat earth movement began with Samuel Rowbotham's interpretation of biblical passages.

Yes, the thread did contain a question.  It subsequently contained another.  Happy?

There's 3 question marks, evidence of 3 questions.  I win.

Magellan went around in a big circle, that's about it.

So if I pointed at a tree and said, "There's a leaf.", you'd say that I was incorrect because the tree had more than one leaf?

If you're calling a tree a leaf then you'd be stupid not just incorrect. If you pointed at a leaf on the other hand..

If you had a scrapbook that said on the cover "A Leaf" and there were two pressed leaves inside, the title would be technically incorrect.

Magellan circumnavigated the Flat Earth. Circumnavigation and navigation is perfectly possible on the Flat Earth model. See one of the maps linked in the FAQ.

North is Hubward, South is Rimward, East is Turnwise, and West is Widdershins.

I'm assuming that Post (first pilot to fly solo around the world) also went in a circle?

Also, Roundy, can you give me any biblical evidence?  I'm not a huge bible-thumper who bases each decision on it, I just want to know since the entire movement seems to be based on biblical interpretations.

Amazing how the bible can be twisted in so many different ways in 2000 years, isn't it?

Wait a minute...you're still arguing about my question number?  I don't even care about that anymore.

No, circumnavigation is not possible on FE without redefining the term. See the RE Primer.

You'd be referring to a specific leaf in the singular. Or you'd be misrepresenting what you really meant. Which would make it incorrect.

Yep. The compass always points North. North is situated in the center of the FE. Therefore, the directions of East and West will be curved.

No, circumnavigation is not possible on FE without redefining the term. See the RE Primer.

Merriam Webster's Dictionary disagrees with you.

    cir·cum·nav·i·gate /ˌsɜrkəmˈnævɪˌgeɪt/
–verb (used with object), -gat·ed, -gat·ing.
    1. to sail or fly around; make the circuit of by navigation: to circumnavigate the earth.
    2. to go or maneuver around: to circumnavigate the heavy downtown traffic.
