I just said to him he should just admit he's trolling FES and is just joking about this FE stuff#

That picture is cute :)

Um, OK, so why don't the satellites crash?  We're still heading upwards...And why doesn't this mass have any effect on the Earth itself?
And I know about Satellite TV, I just thought that sustained space flight wasn't possible on a Flat Earth... I heard this somewhere.  I though the FEers thought this was from towers or something.  And yes, Gin is right, magnetic and gravitational fields have no limit.  If an object were left in space with only one other object in the Universe, they would eventually attract one another.  And don't go off topic, answer our questions.

We are heading upwards, but so is that invisible center of mass along with the Sun, Moon, and Stars. The Universal Accelerator is a universal constant which affects all objects, propelling them upwards and away from the origin of the Big Bang at 9.8m/s2.

As a rocket ascends from the sea-level of the earth it is affected by the Universal Accelerator until it reaches an equilibrium and it is able to maintain an "orbit." Part of the satellite is attracted to the celestial bodies above, and part of the satellite is attracted below to the earth due to gravitation via acceleration.

The Earth itself does not emit a gravitational field because it is perhaps the largest object in the universe. How deep the earth extends, how far the lands of icy tundra extend beyond the ice wall, is unknown to present human knowledge.

That's a real long delay down south.  The delays your talking about in hours don't happen all the time, which they should.

For the rare flight that does occur between the extremities of the earth; along the courses of international flights between points in the Southern Hemisphere exist enormous jet streams located at around 35,000 ft above the surface of the Earth. In the Southern Hemisphere there are both eastward and westward jet streams. By necessity, in relation to the polar front and subtropical jets, easterly jet streams in the Southern Hemisphere propagate at rates even faster than the westward ones. The winds in a jet stream regularly reaches speeds of over 400 km/h. Airliners use these jet streams to faster reach a destination.

This variable contributes significantly to the travel time between Argentina and New Zealand, for example. While an airplane may have a rated cruise speed it can provide under its own power, the extreme winds of the jet stream adds enormously to the actual velocity of the plane over the surface of the Earth.

For every moment the plane stays in the jet stream it is being accelerated until it matches the surrounding velocity and momentum of the air around it. From there the plane can use the limits of its power to travel faster than the jet stream. Thus, seven hours of travel time between Argentina and New Zealand becomes extremely possible.

In general, it has been found that winds are strongest just under the tropopause. If two air masses of different temperatures meet, the resulting pressure difference (which causes winds in FET) is highest along the interface.

These facts are a consequence of the thermal wind relation. The balance of forces on an atmospheric parcel in the vertical direction is primarily between the pressure gradient and the force of gravitation by acceleration is a balance referred to as hydrostatic. In the horizontal, the dominant balance outside of the tropics is between the Coriolis effect and the pressure gradient is a balance referred to as geostrophic.

Given both hydrostatic and geostrophic balance, the Flat Earth Society derives the thermal wind relation: the vertical derivative of the horizontal wind is proportional to the horizontal temperature gradient. The sense of the relation is such that temperatures decreasing polewards implies that winds develop a larger eastward component as one moves upwards. Therefore, the strong eastward moving jet streams are in part a simple consequence of the fact that the equator is warmer than the poles.

If the UA affected all objects we would feel no gravitation. Also, the origin of the big bang is not a physical location. Don't borrow from big bang theory when it was only created by the observations, deductions and reasoning of RE theorists, using RE-based observations about the cosmos.

My, oh, my, TomB, you've really got to start making more sense. Any luck on yesterday's questions? No? Any luck on that challenge? No? It looks like you're happy just to be known as the liar.

Now, this has got to be one of the worst post you've ever made. No references. Inconsistencies. Out and out fabrication. Disgusting!

My favorite lie in this one is: "In the Southern Hemisphere there are both eastward and westward jet streams." Any proof? Nope.

How about this knee-slapper: "For every moment the plane stays in the jet stream it is being accelerated until it matches the surrounding velocity and momentum of the air around it."? TomB, when a plane even begins to matche the surrounding velocity (and not momentum, by the way) it stalls and falls.

The jet stream is narrow and doesn't happen to follow the needed courses in all cases. The jet stream only goes in one direction (eastward in the Southern Hemisphere). Furthermore, the speeds in the jet streams diminish greatly at night and in the summer.

Now let's do the math. Let's go from Auckland, New Zealand (AKL) to Santiago, Chile (SCL). There have been 50 such flights from March 15 to May 15, with a average delay of 8 minutes and a travel time of 11.5 hours. Please reference: On Time Stats and Travelocity.
Now the FE distance between the airports is 10,127 miles. Please reference SunSpots.xlsx for the formula. In the next release, I'll be sure to include a sheet with the calculation for you. This means that the average speed for the plane is 870 MPH. Even if we make the outlandish assumption that the plane was in the most intense jet stream ever recorded for the entire trip, we would still need an average speed of 620 MPH. This allows for no time for traffic delays, or gaining and reducing speed. The best speed for the type of equipment (Airbus A340-300) is 553 MPH. Please reference: Aircraft Detail. So, no, it's not possible.

TomB, I will give you one bit of credit. You've made us prove you wrong.

I'd just like to point out something i found a little odd about your post Mr.Bishop

From wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane#Intensity_classifications

"Maximum sustained winds in the strongest tropical cyclones have been estimated at about 85 m/s (165 kt, 190 mph, 305 km/h)."

So these winds in the south pacific - these winds which i have never heard of, which are continuously ongoing and which travel both eastwards and westwards - are moving at an average state of 100km/h faster than the fastest hurricanes ever?

Moreover, are these wind speeds at 35,000 feet consistent over the dense areas of New Zealand and Australia? If they are, do you not think that people flying these planes would notice traveling ridiculously fast over land? I can almost (almost) buy that at 35,000ft they might do so over the sea, but not over land where there can be clear distinction of land mass even at those altitudes.
And if these winds are somehow conveniently absent over the southern continents land-masses, how do the aircraft make up the lost time spent flying "slowly" across sky devoid of these air currents. And wouldnt passengers notice when being constantly accelerated and declerated by a value of 400km/h throughout their flight?

Anyway. Somebody with more time should get some official published flight times (preferably not from Earth Not A Globe or somewhere equally weak, Tom) and do the math - see if this 400km/h boost over select areas of the southern hemisphere would be sufficient to make up for the vast increase in flight time that would be necessary.

I don't think you need to worry about Tom digging published flight plans from a 150 year old book (though it would be a kick if he tried :D).
Where did you educate the biology, in toulet?

So I'm still confused.  At the birth of the Universe,  if everything started accelerating upwards, then our relative speed would be 0.  We would still not feel any gravity.  And what state of matter is this mass in, because I don't think anyone has ever seen it.  Is it dark matter?
Further more, the Big Bang does not have an origin.  The whole universe is the origin, you've said this yourself.  This is because the Universe started out and then expanded, remaining the same thing.

BTW, I thought I'd like to point out that I'm obviously a member of this conspiracy since I circumnavigated the globe on the Aircraft Carrier, USS Enterprise, CVN-65. I've also been around Africa twice. I've also flown to Oman from Long Beach via Alaska, Japan, The Phillipines and Deigo Garcia to get to the ship. I've also seen a friend talking to ISS via a ham radio satellite rig. It's all about money. I get paid two pennies and a hard candy everytime I say that. I'm sorry. I'm a bad man.
Yes, quite.  No one would ever claim to be someone they're not in their profile name.
