You have confused map markers of landing points and furthest travel points of various explorers with the notion of mineral or other exploitation of Antarctica.
To begin with, Antarctica is mostly snow and ice over some rock and water. This means that mineral exploitation is very difficult, and would require considerable digging through ice and snow - which is certainly less stable than earth and rock - and then possibly into icy water far too cold for men to survive. The very considerable difficulty and expense makes almost any attempt at mineral mining unprofitable. Oil drilling might be possible - but there is no oil drilling allowed on Antarctica, and as far as anyone knows, no mineral exploitation of any kind going on.
