amazing that NO ONE ADDRESSED MY POINT! the way alex jones and other truthers out to expose the NWO have been treated is APPALLING! people like the NYT can't argue with us on an intellectual level so tehy mock us.
No one likes to answer your points because if one does, they get ignored, and that's if there's a point to begin with.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Another B.L. Question
« on: May 07, 2010, 03:53:09 PM »
I did.
You have the correct understanding of Bendy light.  Light going to the Earth bends more as the angle get's lower.  Light going from the Earth bends more as the angle get's closer to 90 degrees.
How does the light bend that way? It seems to only bend towards the viewer.
(not directed specifically at you)

If you're questioning how light could possibly work that way then congratulations, you understand Bendy Light.
The Understanding being that you can't understand it because it's gibberish.
Fair enough. I'd still like an FE'er response, or parsec or parsifal.

Fair enough, I just don't like being misquoted. However, as JBJosh has already said, your whole point is irrelevant. The theory exists, and he wants to understand it better. It doesn't matter who does or doesn't believe it.

It matters. There's no point discussing a theory no one believes in or think is possible.
Sorry if this is too close to off-topic, but tell that to my history teacher. We talked about Eugenics in reference to the forced sterilization of people today.

Now back on-topic, will someone please tell me if I have the correct understanding of B.L.? If not, what have I missed?

How was the OP going against the rules of Debate? I have not been able to see why this was moved.

This forum is for the debate and discussion of specific aspects of Flat Earth Theory only.
Burden of Proof in regards to FET...?

And this was not a question, it was pretty clearly debate.

Irrelevant. Read the board-specific rules in Flat Earth Debate.

I can see why Wilmore gets annoyed.

It isn't irrelevant inside the environment of the message boards in your hypothetical situation. If someone on the message board reads the FAQ, then asks questions about it, there is no problem with it. They've set up a place where the Four Hurmours Theory is entirely relevant, but because it's wrong everywhere else, you have problems with that. That's a really bad reason for you to have a problem, since there isn't one. Also, this is all interesting coming from you, since you are an active user here.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Another B.L. Question

Yes, I'm aware of that. I am very much of the opinion that raising the beeny light topic makes it appear to newbies as if it might be a theory of some validity. This perpetuates it in forum discussions. If we all shut up about it, beeny light would die a death and no longer be used by anybody to explain anything.
That is so stupid.

It's in the FAQ. If these "newbies" go to the FAQ, they will see EA. Then they will ask about it.

Also, your whole logic behind this is pretty baffling, as well. Maybe we should stop talking about terrible things that happened in history, as well. Slavery should be worked out of the history books, because talking about it would make it appear to be a valid way of doing things.

because, if you haven't noticed, some people on this site believe it, or at least claim to believe it.

They HAVE to pretend the disproof doesn't exist because without it there's a load of holes that sink the entire flat earth idea, depending on which model you want to use. The people you refer to are sticking their fingers in their ears and going "lalalalalala". They just make like nobody ever pointed out the massive flaws.

That doesn't take away from the fact that I would like to know if my interpretation is correct to them.

I like JBJosh, he's a great noob
I think that's a compliment...?

Yes, by all means disregard everything else that I said.

Some other people on here do that all the time but I don't see you taking offense then. Double standard?

Please stop posting dumb things. It's making lurking painful.

Please stop being one-sided, it makes posting painful.
Can't even get the punctuation right or the tenses correct. Oh well.

Anyways, how am I one-sided? You clearly took the parts of the post that fit your side of the argument, which was apparent and dumb. It made it painful to read. I'm not biased towards General Douchebag, I'm assessing what's been posted.

Maybe you don't like that I brought up that you posted a dumb thing? Or that I called it dumb? Or you had the need to be sassy? Either way, you're continuing a streak, so keep it up! I wanna see how far it goes.

Just what we needed: another know it all smart-ass.
How am I a know-it-all?
Glad you caught on about being a smart-ass, though.

Why are you making a thread about a concept which has been disproved? Beeny light has been shown not to exist.
Because I'd still like an understanding.

Then allow me to explain it.

Bendy light was created to help explain things like why the sun sets instead of fading off into the distance.  It's a poor attempt to make the circular peg of Round Earth fit into the square peg of Flat Earth.
From what I have seen, it has been proven wrong to RE'ers, I get that. But I do have a legitimate question about BL, and I don't need any of this "Bendy Light has been disproved, dummy!" because, if you haven't noticed, some people on this site believe it, or at least claim to believe it.

Telling me things I already anticipate you guys to say is not relevant to my interests nor this thread, but if you have some constructive criticism of my understanding of BL, and would like to share it, be my guest. That is incredibly relevant to my interests.

No one believes bendy light but Parsifal who’s not even FE
Wilmore?

Satellites don't exist on FE.
Some FE'ers claim that there are pictures from that far out in space, and it looks round because of BL. I used "Satellite" because I thought "Picture Box" was a silly thing to write.

Awhile back I asked a question about B.L. and what it looks like diagrammed and what I thought it would mean in life.

Now I have another question.

So why does it do this? Wouldn't this make for problems standing on Earth in general?

Suggestions & Concerns / Re: What's the deal with...
« on: May 01, 2010, 01:01:45 PM »
I think in future we will be including a contact email address in bans so that people can make genuine complaints if they are banned. We do actually listen to the suggestions people have and try and do something about them. I'm just teasing Crusty about the contact info cos he is a silly troll.
Ah, well, now I feel silly for getting into this. Back into the shadows I go!

Wat? Try joining the FES facebook group, you'll see lots of FE'ers on there, not afraid to reveal their identities. Its not our fault you're too lazy to find ways to contact mods. Or you can take the initiative and note down a mod's email address now in case you are banned in the future, I'm sure I'm not the only one to have their email address listed on their profile.
I don't see why, in case I get banned for no good reason, that I should have all these notes written down so that I can contact a mod. If one posts and plays by the rules, then gets punished wrongly, they are now shot in the foot because they figured "Hey, I post correctly and don't get in trouble. Why would I need to have the contact info for the mods?"

There's no reason not to see the contacts after ban, at least. I can see how posting in Suggestions after getting a ban would be a bad idea, and would have mods do nothing in here but deleting posts, but I also feel like just clicking the delete button isn't such a time-consuming thing. Real complaints will be kept, spam will be deleted.

Actually, I lost the debate. Apparently, when asking for research money, you shouldn't ask for research money. It may be a weakness in the argument.

I know the leftists hate the foundation of American society, but I stick to the good old principal of 'innocent until proven guilty.'
If you haven't been proven guilty, then you have a right to resist arrest.
If you are summoned to trial, and you don't show, then there is a warrant issued for your arrest.
If you feel that the judge that issued the warrant is part of a kangaroo court, then you have the right to resist arrest.
However, if you feel that you must follow the will of the majority, even if the majority is morally wrong, then I hope you're raised for your wool, and not for your meat.  Sheep.
1)You're worse than FearTehGators.
2) You already have a topic about this in Philosophy, no need to complain about police here, too.

Considering crocodiles and birds have the same unusual lung type, it's hard to say they are anything but close relatives.
Please tie that to why the non-existence of crocoducks is support against evolution.

The existence of crocoducks is support against evolution.
Good thing they don't exist then.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / KT Extinction Debate, My Tax Argument
« on: April 15, 2010, 07:13:13 PM »
In class today, I had my KT Extinction debate. In it, I had to be an expert witness, testify to a lobbyist and the Senators, all fellow classmates. My expertise was in the defense systems and the budget set in the debate parameters, which was $250Billion. I ran down the list of possible things to move asteroids off their trajectory and/or destroy them, along with a tax plan.

I'm posting the tax plan here, because I wanna see if it was a good argument to make, or if it wasn't worth bringing up.

U.S. Population - 307,006,550

U.S. Working Population ? 277,226,915
Poverty Line - $22,050

$25,000 to $50,000 (26.65%)
$50,000 to $75,000 (18.27%)
$75,000 to $100,000 (10.93%)
$100,000 or more (15.73%)

28.42% not being taxed

For the purposes of our logic, let's use:

$37.5K (26.65%) - 277,226,915 * (.2665) or 73 880 972.8
$62.5K (18.27%) - 277,226,915 * (.1827) or 50 649 357.4
$87.5K (10.97%) - 277,226,915 * (10.97) or 30 411 792.6
$175K (15.73%) - 277,226,915 * (.1573) or 43 607 793.7

Goal - $250 Billion in 40 years

[73880972.8(37,500*X)+50649357.4(62,500*X)+30411792.6(87,500*X)+48,292,130(175,000*X)]40 = 250,000,000,000
X = 0.000366606
Tax = 0.0366606 %

[73880972.8(37,500*X)+50649357.4(62,500*X)+30411792.6(87,500*X)+43607793.7(175,000*X)]10 = 250,000,000,000
X = 0.0015405
Tax = 0.15405%

I'd like to have you guys review of this, and I'm not using your advice to better my grade, so I'm not cheating.
