Here it is the space shuttle endeavour.
As you know I can not go to space. So I was looking at this picture just the other day in awe at the achievements of man. I got excited zoomed in on the picture looking at the workmanship and detail of this grand machine.
But then, WTF just behind the cabin on that probe/tube there is some 3mm single core wiring.
Zoom in on it. Look at the way it lays, have a look its pliable in loops complete with taped joiners.
If you are still unsure go outside pop the bonnet of you car and have a look.
This shuttle is a model no more than 10ft long.
If that wiring was that diameter in relationship to the size of that shuttle the wiring would be rigid like steel.
I have no idea if satellites/shuttles are real, but I do believe with this particular example it is nothing more than a toy.
This is why I ask;
Can a belief be so strong it clouds your vision?

No, I have no idea how to. Although I am often accused of doctoring my photos.
The large tube behind the cabin. Just zoom in on it.
You cannot miss the wires.

Can a belief be so strong it clouds your vision?
Absolutely! If that were not possible, then this site would not exist, because all the flatties would have realised that that really is the ISS that you can see in the evening sky (occasionally), and that the footage from the moon landings would have been impossible to fake, and that all their 'reasons' for stuff disappearing over the horizon because of 'perspective' or 'atmospheric opacity' are BS. In one breath, many flatties will say "the earth looks flat, therefore it is flat", and in the very next breath they will say "the sun falling below the horizon is just an illusion, it's not actually setting". If that's not clouded vision, I don't know what is.
Also...
Here it is the space shuttle endeavour.
...
But then, WTF just behind the cabin on that probe/tube there is some 3mm single core wiring.
...
...can you be sure? It could just as easily be a wrapped wiring loom, or a hydraulic line, or something like that.

How do you know it is wiring you see. It is steel tubing you idiot. They don't expose wire in the UV rays of the sun. What made you think it was 10 ft long it could be 100 ft.

Yes, and with this image it allows you to see the wires for what they really are. If you were to show somebody just this image they would instantly know they are 3mm wires.
If you put these wires on a model then in your mind they have to become something bigger like hydraulic hoses etc. to stay in relation to the size of the shuttle.

It is steel tubing you idiot.
Why do you feel the need to call me an idiot?
Could you give me an estimate of the diameter of that steel tubing thanks.

Because it is so ridiculous that you believe it is a model that is why. Every time you see a picture from space your mind goes in FAKE mode. Are you telling me all the picture of the shuttle and videos of 100 launches and millions of people that saw it go in space including me is all fake. I was at one launch and was not fake.

Now again since according to you I am an idiot, could you give me an estimate of the diameter of that steel tubing please?

I will have to do some research to find out but you can't say what how big it is easier. You are assuming it is a model. Listen the shuttle program has been going on for 30 years with 137 flights. See here is the list of all the flights. I was at the STS-60. Are you telling me the whole shuttle program never existed?

Settle down, go back and re-read my initial post. If you can understand what I have written I am stating this particular photo is of a model.
Are you yourself doubting the whole shuttle program ever existed? Why ask me, I don't know.
Then do your research and get back to me with that steel tubing diameter.
Cheers ;)

I'm looking for some info as well. Unfortunately, there really isn't anything in the photo that can be used to come to an agreement on the size of it. But, I will try.

You are saying the photo is a fake? What will it prove if I find you the details on the "International Docking Adapter". That is what it is called. To find all the detailed construction is not easy. Before I spend time looking for that on your behalf you have to tell me if any of the 137 shuttle mission existed. If you believe it did not I am not going to waste my time to show you something you will not believe anyways. So did any of shuttle missions ever existed?

No its not fake its a real photo of a model.
Tell you what, wipe the eye snot out of the corner of your eyes and look at the photo for what it really is. Do this before you go and program your mind with construction details. There is no need to waste your time.
Did the shuttle program exist? I have no idea.
I am just looking at a photo of a toy shuttle. It could of been an R/C car , boat, helicopter etc...
Oh, can you with your eyes give me an estimate of that steel tube diameter? A rough estimate would be sufficient.

Ok, so the best I can find is that the U.S. flag, in the back, SHOULD be a 4x6' flag, and that the 3 "line" bundle looks like it would comfortably fit in a single stripe on the flag, so I'm going to say they're at least 1" thick.
With that said, I'm tired, my math might be off, so good night flat and round earthers alike.

If you think the picture is a model them you are wrong. I looked at videos of space walks close to the assembly. There are some coated wires and conductor pipes. You are going to edit the picture and point to the exact item you are referring to.
As far a you don't know if the missions ever existed don't you think it is time for you to find out. There are tones of information on it. If you have a difficulty of telling the difference what is real or not then you have a problem. This is the 21st century. Don't you think in today's technology we could not have men in space.

Good estimate. Some videos i saw it look to be close to 3 inches. Have a good sleep.

Flag looks a little odd also. Where is its edge?
It looks like it might be a print on a white background.

Good estimate. Some videos i saw it look to be close to 3 inches.
So you estimate the steel tubing to be roughly 3".

Are you talking about the big dark color round assembly that is attached from the shuttle bay to the ISS?

If you cannot get yourself up to speed in this discussion, how can you just jump in and imply that somebody is an idiot when you seem unable to grasp what is being discussed? That takes the cake!
Before you roam around calling people idiots take your foot out of your mouth.

If is what you are talking about? It is big. It is the size a a very small car. People and supplies must pass through it.

Listen. I don't want to be mean to you but it is frustration to see people like you have and instant conspiracy and fake attitude of things like that. How did it come about you think like that?
-
Like I said before, can you be sure it's 3mm single core? It really does look more like a wiring loom to me, especially following one of the runs down to where it splits into two separate runs. Also, there is an astronaut in the top left area of the picture. He/she would be a good reference for trying to estimate sizes. ;)

May I ask you the same question, tappet?
-
May I ask you the same question, tappet?
You may. I would never deny that my vision would be clouded by my beliefs.
I have never insisted satellites don't exist. I think they may but not as we are told.
I have never denied space shuttles exist. I can read a book or fool myself I am doing research on Google and learn what is going on .
These days I try to look at things in a more simplistic way and see things for what they really are.
You could go through life and everything is rosy with no need to ever question anything.
But for some of us it is not so and you get to an intersection in the road of life, this is where you choose your direction.
So for this picture I choose to see those wires for what they really are.
-
So for this picture I choose to see those wires for what they really are.
I think you are jumping to conclusions a bit early. You are assuming that
- its a wire
- it cannot be bent this way
In fact, it may be a flexible hose, insulated with flexible PU/EPDM foam like this one :
I have this kind of setup for my home solar panels, and it's worth at least 10 cm diameter.
I don't see why this stuff cannot be used on the shuttle, and it matches the alleged overall dimensions.
-

My beliefs don't matter here. I don't know what these wires/hoses are made of. Neither do you.
I'm giving you an alternative rational explanation. Why do you discard it ?

Not every flag is made from cloth.
Do you think a small bunch of those wires would fill the same approximate area as a single stripe on the flag?

I think a little bit of homework might be in order to actually see what makes foam, foam. When you sort that out, then try and stick it in your space on wiring.
Your vacuum is going to strip out the air from all of your components. It's sensible to understand how this would be a major problem.

Thank you for your contribution, but as your vacuum/pressure definition is still on the drawing board, don't be upset if it's discarded until further experimentation.

It a blatant mocked up photo using a model . altitude & orbiting angle give it up. I think it was a nice touch though adding the BS earth curvature. It's truly amazing how NASA photos never contain any stars.

No, it's really not amazing. Go into a dark room, preferably like a warehouse where you might get some sort of scale. Set one really bright light, fairly close to the camera, and then lots of other dim lights, off in the background, far far away, and let me know how many of the dim lights show up in a picture

If you stand under a street light you will not see stars around it either.

I take it no one else has spotted the astronaut in the top left region of this picture? Might pay to take a closer look. :)

George Lucas could make a picture like that for a fraction of the cost.
-

You mean the one that just ducked outside to fit the new phenogolin pin they had been waiting for.
Looks pretty relaxed changing that pin whilst traveling at 27,000 km/h.
-

There's no friction in "space".
-
If the ISS is traveling at over 27,000 km/h does the space shuttle have to go faster to catch it?
-
Can you go ahead and put an arrow to what exactly you're referring to?
No, I have no idea how to. Although I am often accused of doctoring my photos.
The large tube behind the cabin. Just zoom in on it.

Think about this: If the powers that be can convince the entire world that a flat Earth is round creating the greatest hoax of all time, and fooling everyone that so much technology is a total sham, don't you think they could make perfect photos? Would they really be able to fake satellites existence but not be able to do a proper photoshop or CGI or staged photo?
-
, don't you think they could make perfect photos? Would they really be able to fake satellites existence but not be able to do a proper photoshop or CGI or staged photo?
They obviously do not need perfect photos.
Your belief is so strong, to you there has never been a dodgy photo.

Yeah, not hard when there's no wind. :)
If the ISS is traveling at over 27,000 km/h does the space shuttle have to go faster to catch it?
Knowing the little bit I know about how orbits work, I'd say the shuttle would sit in a slightly lower orbit (which would have it moving faster than the ISS) until it got close enough, then ascend and slow to match the height and speed of the ISS.

What you are saying is the shuttle throttles at over 27,000 km/h, ascends, backs off the throttle to match the speed of the ISS then shuts the rockets off to then fall around the earth with the ISS.
Have I got this correct?

They obviously do not need perfect photos.
Your belief is so strong, to you there has never been a dodgy photo.
Can you find any photographic experst to support your position?

I take it no one else has spotted the astronaut in the top left region of this picture? Might pay to take a closer look. :)
You mean the one that just ducked outside to fit the new phenogolin pin they had been waiting for.
Looks pretty relaxed changing that pin whilst traveling at 27,000 km/h.
You are making your on conclusion on how it works. The Shuttle will fly on a lower orbit which it goes faster then the ISS. At a certain precise point it will burn to increase the to the same altitude to the ISS. The rendezvous process is not like driving a car where you speed up and then slow down.

Have I got this correct?
Almost. The shuttle would accelerate from launch to the required speed for it's lower orbit, then shut off the engines and 'coast' (remembering there's almost no drag at this point because, although there's still a bit of atmosphere at this height, it's extremely thin). Once it reached a point where it could ascend to rendezvous with the ISS, it would make the required burn to ascend and slow, then use the maneuvering jets to make the final fine adjustments. Alternatively, the launch could be timed so that the shuttle rendezvous directly with the ISS from launch, without any time spent playing catch-up.

If anyone zooms right in you can see the model is made out of fibre glass or plaster covered pot like what they put on a broken ar, Probably fibre glass though.
If anyone needs any more proof that they take us lot for absolute dicks or knob heads, take a look at the left window and zoom in.
Talk about pulling our plonkers, they're actually pulled the skin right back over our heads by the looks of things. ::)

Go and take a look at the appendage in the left window of the model shuttle. If you zoom in your can clearly make out what it is. Let's see who sees it and who doesn't.

in the left window of the shuttle? I see something that looks like a MRE bag, perhaps. on OUR left side, I see a bunch of cloth balled up that an imaginative person could see any number of objects with, especially if they were always looking at pictures with the intent of believing they were fake.

I'll let people be the judge of that, let's see what people think it could be.
Zoom in to 200% for a better look if need be.

There is absolutely no way you can predict what you see in the windows model or real.

I agree. I couldn't swear on what it is but it certainly resembles an appendage, probably put in there as a joke to see if it gets noticed. I bet they laughed like hell doing it. Probably as much as they laughed by putting the sink hole strainer on the shuttle model.
It reminds me of Dr who and the Daleks with their sink plunger arm and bog gear stick knob sticking out of their heads.
Did anyone notice the perforated plastic sink plug hole strainer?

So who would be paid more, a guy photoshopping fake pictures or the guy who blows the whistle and informs all media the Earth is Flat and the Space Shuttle is a sham and NASA was one big hoax and he has first hand knowledge of this? Why do you think these people have some incredible ability to keep a secret?

And what is that point of light that passes silently overhead which, when you look at it through good binoculars or a telescope, looks an awful lot like the ISS?
-
Why do you think these people have some incredible ability to keep a secret?
And because in your mind you cannot see anything strange, you believe nobody else should be able to.
Where I work a couple of people in management know what is going on and control the direction of the business and the other hundred below them know shit.

The rendezvous process is not like driving a car where you speed up and then slow down.
Yeh, I did think for a minute there it might be like docking two cars moving at 100km/h on solid level ground using a brake and an accelerator.
But its probably is easier to do it at over 27,000 km/h off the ground with no brake or throttle control.
-
Tappet where you work is involved of a world wide cover up keeping NASA, all knowledge of space, all real physics, gravity theory being fake, GPS and satellite myth, and he fact the entire world being a sphere is not only a lie, but every photo and space mission has been a 100% hoax? We aren't talking about the guy who makes the secret sauce at McDonalds is not aware of the fry guy is doing. So no, nobody could keep that a secret of such a massive scale. And if this were possible in this mythological world that does not exist, you wouldn't find silly flaws in the photos.

Actually, a better analogy would probably be air-to-air refueling, but without the turbulence, and with the ability to actually have some braking effect thanks to the maneuvering jets.

Don't know, why don't I need a dish on the roof of my car for sat nav?

I would like to see this attempted at 27,000 km/h.
I don't believe anyone on this forum would understand what 27,000 km/h means in reality, myself included.
A manoeuvring jet has to push against something to work, at 27,000 km/h that would be pretty tricky.

You ask me how I think a satellite works. I say "I don't know" so you say "find out!"
So I will ask you, how many female flowers are on one panicle inside of the spathiphyllum of coco nucifera.

Plenty of information on the internet. Instead of saying satellites do not exist look up all the details.

And I thought this is what I said. I thought they did exist maybe I am wrong?

I can spend 10 minutes searching google then come back parroting what I have just read like any REer pretending I am an expert on the subject.
Or I can be honest and tell you I don't know.
I cannot believe the Earth is rotating at such speed with an object in space rotating at the same high speed unattached to the earth sending a signal to my dish for my tv. Yet if I move the dish slightly no more tv.
If I were to guess I would say the earth is flat nothing moves, the satellite is in the sky suspended in such a way I do not understand.

You realize that the speed something rotates depends on the size of the object, and the period in which it rotates one full circuit, correct?
Basically, what you're saying is because you don't understand how it works, you don't believe it does?

The earth is not rotating that fast. The speed at the equator is 1000mph. The geosynchronous satellite is moving much faster than the earth on the surface but fast enough it will away be in a fix location. It is like you put a stone at the end of a long string and you swung around you. Your hand will be swinging with the stone but the stone is moving faster. The stone will always be facing your hand.

It would look something like this:

You could always just take your own picture and see for yourself. Surely a professional photographer like you would have a camera capable of a 2 minute exposure?
-

It might be best to explain something about exposure to sceptimatic. That 2 minute exposure would best be done on a dark night. (New moon or no moon light). There are some charts on another thread as to how long the ISS would be visible. You would need to know where the ISS is and if it would be visible for at least 2 minutes for your 2 minute time exposure.
Here is the website for finding where and when to look for the ISS. Enter your own location.
I have used Fort Davis, Texas as an example. Also notice there are only 2 times listed when the ISS would be visible long enough for your 2 minute time exposure.

I could be wrong but I thought tv comes from geostationary satellite.
So if the earth is spinning at 1670km/h at the equator and the satellite is 35,000 km away in space how fast does it now travel to keep up with my tv?
What is this invisible string that holds this satellite in this position at this incredible distance at high speed in line with my tv?
You must be a fan of Arthur C Clarke.

So whether the satellite is geostationary approximately 40,000 km's away or geosynchronous 80,000 km's all satellites are falling around the earth held in this fixed trajectory, really?

And then some of these satellites travel at 1,600 km/h, some travel at 27,000 km/h. A space shuttle approaches uses a jet blast to manoeuvre by pushing against something but what it pushes against does not change the speed of the satellite.

And I get constant tv.
Yeh right.
It's called technology. Learn about it, have you not wondered before how it works?
Its a red herring written by Arthur C Clarke.
Explain how satellite communications works.
How would I know. I have not got one.
I can go now and Google the answer. Then come back and parrot to you what you can parrot to me.
I have told you before, I don't deny the existence of satellites I just don't believe they fly around a ball the way we are told.
Pointless discussing this if you do not understand, for whatever reason, how they work.
So, I'm assuming you'd be able to build a satellite, launch it into orbit successfully, and operate it?
Tell me what you mean exactly by "how satellites work"?
What do you know about them, agree they are used for navigation, communication etc.?
I know no more than I've been told.
They may be, but surely are not where we are told, doing what we are told that they do.
How can they not be where we are told, that is where dishes point to? What else transmits their signals?

If I gave you 3 million dollars a year to lie to x amount of people, would you do it?

Understanding the principles of how something works /= knowing how to build/operate it. I know how a combustion engine works; i can't build one. I know how an electric oven works, i can't build one. I know how a computer monitor works, I can't build one.
P.S. Thermo, I've never seen you actually say "I believe the Earth is Flat", all I've seen you doing is defending the position/ trying to use logical fallacies to thwart RE
-
The earth is not rotating that fast.

Sputnik was only 2 feet in diameter. It was sent in 1957. I know you are going to say" the Russians never put anything in space. It was their way to scare the rest of the world"

I do remember what I was young when Yuri Gagarin went is space. It was on the news and paper. They used a improved ICBM rocket to put him in space. There is no reason to believe technology come to a grinding halt. Look at cars, airplanes, trains and ships. They all have progress to bigger, faster and more efficient. Do you think rocket science technology stopped in 1957?

No, I don't suppose it did stop in 1957...but it certainly went backwards when compared to today.
They used a Saturn V to go to the moon, allegedly and then changed to a shuttle as a supposed leap forward, only for the supposed re-usable shuttle to cost more than the Saturn V , pound for pound and payload, yet they are now at the stage of using Russain rockets to take supposed Astronauts into space and returning them via a capsule and parachute, landing them onto hard ground, using a supposed exploding under carriage to arrest their fall. That's some leap forward, don't you think. ;D
It's like giving your son a Ferrari for his birthday, then your next son comes along and you buy him a model T ford. It's ridiculous and should be seen for what it all is...yet here we are in 2014 with internet and the ablity to scrutinise things and yet people like you are still doe eyed over the so called advancement of science that's going backwards.
It's cringeworthy.
It's like the mars mission decades ago when they dropped a rover on mars, allegedly. How did they do it? They parachuted it down in a virtual vacuum, then released the lander surrounded by frigging balloons in a virtual vacuum, to bounce around the surface, then deflate, then out pops a rover to roam about and still communicate up until lately.
Not too long ago they go and land one again, only this time an untested crane type after a parachute drop; retro rockets fire, then a crane drops the rover gently to the ground; releases the bables, only for the retro rocket to thrust upwards and crash land well away from the rover, then off it goes with it's super camera's and JCB digger attachment, only this time an even bigger deal is made of this one, whilst the decades ago one was given a few scoops of news coverage.
They are still doing silly balloon jumps to test space suits, even though in 1969, men could dance about the moon and fall over without worrying about tearing them. There should be no need to test anything out any further, should they. It all works perfect doesn't it?
The so called space program hasn't just went terribly backwards, the space program actors who feed you this stuff, plus the people that employ them to carry it off; actually take you lot for being backward and who can blame them. I mean look at you all. You sit there and argue it's validity when your own frigging common sense should be kicking right in to tell you just what it all is. A joke.
The topic sums you up. A belief so STRONG, it clouds your judgement, because you can't seem to see when you're getting the absolute piss ripped right out of you.

Your infatuation with satellites is bordering on the ridiculous, made worse by the fact that you know absolutely nothing about them and have never even put up a reason for their existence, except to say, "well how do satellites work then for our TV and GPS."
When someone tells you, you say, " so how can they point into the sky then, it proves satellites are there."
This is all you do, no matter what thread it is.
If a thread was about watch design, you would find a way to add a frigging satellite into it. ;D ;D ;D

It's about coverage and the need to transmit 600 tv channels v. a small bit of data to find your location. TV needs higher frequencies of 10GHz to get the bandwidth and needs a dish to amplify the low power signals.

Yes, of course. I mean, tracking software. So what does this do? Does it immediately spin the dish to the right angle even if you about turn.
Why you people hang onto this pure load of baloney is astonishing. One minute you touch your dish at home, ever so slightly and bang, your picture is totally gone.
Go in your car and drive anywhere, any way and no problem. No problem with your film or whatever.
I refuse to believe that you people are this naive, all the time. I simply refuse to believe it. There has to be another reason. You have to be paid to do it.

The design of the dish appears to be different, and larger, than what youd have at your house. They appear to be taking up most of the roof of an SVU, so it might be as simple as lifting one end or the other up slightly. I've never said that "touching" a dish at hoe would knock it out. moving it more than a degree or two? sure, but that's more than a touch, typically.
And I never believed there was someone as paranoid and diluted all the time.
-
How can they not be where we are told, that is where dishes point to? What else transmits their signals?
Where does the dish on your GPS receiver point?
Look up the difference between satellites for broadcast TV and for GPS. Then understand why a GPS receiver does not need a dish.
Why don't you tell me why a car doesn't need one to watch so called satellite TV?
A car watches TV? Or do you mean watching satellite tv in a car. Do you?
You know exactly what I mean. You can't answer can you? That's because you haven't a clue.
Any links to receiving satellite tv in cars.
Here. You can do it on the move too. What do you have to say about this Mr expert. I'm sure you've got some bull crap for me. Spit it out.

Not crap to me what do you want to know?

You don't need a dish for GPS. GPS satellites are in low orbit.

Have you noticed many years ago satellite dishes were 10 feet in diameter. Now they are only 18 inches. The satellites for TV transmit more power and the LNA (receiver) are more sensitive. As the frequencies get higher the smaller the antenna need to be. Do you think it would be impossible to have Sat TV in your car with time. You are falling back with technology.

Low orbit or high orbit makes no difference. Are you saying that more vacuum space between the satellite and the receiver somehow blocks the signal? Do you even understand the basics of the EM wave propagation?

Do you understand the implications of the inverse square law? From the above comment, I'm guessing not.

Do you not understand that it should not make any difference? We have technology called "signal amplifiers" that have been around for more than a hundred years. From your post, I would guess not.

The lower the signal level the more difficult to detect it from the noise. What do you not understand about satellites?

Why do all satellites not have the same signal levels when they all receive the same amount of sun light to charge their batteries?

Weird question. Depends on size of solar panels... I suggest you read up about the different types of satellites.

Understanding the principles of how something works /= knowing how to build/operate it. I know how a combustion engine works; i can't build one. I know how an electric oven works, i can't build one. I know how a computer monitor works, I can't build one.
P.S. Thermo, I've never seen you actually say "I believe the Earth is Flat", all I've seen you doing is defending the position/ trying to use logical fallacies to thwart RE
I was just asking for a clarification on his statement.
Aside from that, if you know how a computer monitor works, why couldn't you order the necessary components and assemble them properly?
I'm defending the position that deserves to be defended.
If you can make my "logical fallacies" more apparent to me, feel free to do so.

Because understanding the basics of how something works is a far cry from knowing how to design the circuit boards to make it function.
Maybe you should go defend the little kid on the playground, they need protected more than most of these ideas.

I could build a computer, but I don't know how to build a hard drive.
I would say I know the basics.
Where did this schoolchild come into play?

Because it makes more sense than posting stuff here. There is plenty of information available online about the detail of how satellites operate. If you disagree with any of it then let us discuss it here.

What's the point of answering any question if it's all online?
Then, what's the point of anyone asking you anything?

There is no recognised online explanation for a flat earth. Jroa wants to know how satellites work, plenty of detail online from major companies, universities etc. If he reads there and disagrees he can post the link here for discussion about it.
Or maybe afraid to disagree with a thesis from a university...

Thank you for proving my point. I would BET you even understand the basics as to how that hard drive works, yet you can't build one.
And the school kid comes in about defending something that needs defending.

Some kids deserve a swift punch to the cheek.
The hard drive was an example of a component of the system that I wouldn't be able to build from scratch.
Looking at this analogy, I'm sure there's pieces of a satellite that the average Joe wouldn't be able to build, though if Joe had the blueprints that listed all of the components in their correct places, he might be able to pull it off. (With a bit of basic knowledge of how a satellite "works". (...Maybe slightly-above-average Joe.))
Do you see what I'm saying yet?
Perhaps we just have differing standards of the term "basic".

Apparently, because i wouldn't really expect ANY average joe to build any sort of advanced electronic device really from blueprints.
But then I don't know all does actually go into building a satellite. If it's something thats completely modular, more like a PC, than ok, sure. But if it involves the precise alignment of things, possibly more advanced electrical work, than I'm sceptical.

If you could solder something onto a circuit board successfully, I'm sure alignment and precision wouldn't be an issue.
This is also assuming you have at least a basic understanding of how a satellite works.

There are satellite called micro-satellites that can be deployed from the ISS. They are build by ham radio engineers. http://ww2.amsat.org/ (http://ww2.amsat.org/)
