Apparently not. I mean I consider myself to be pretty well versed in science (I'm a biochem major, I'm only a troll in my spare time, which somehow I have)
Here's all I know about the subject (forgive the lack of cited sources)
Global Climate change is the overall warming of Earth's temperature being accelerated beyond its normal warming/cooling cycles due to the presence of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Winter is still cold, but only slightly less so. Summer is slightly hotter.
Measurable changes only occur over a very long period of time. (So reporting the temperature of the day as evidence is an EPIC PHAIL)
Also, I have heard some theories which say that since all sytems approach equilibrium according to physics, Global Warming will cause more intense winters as the Environment tries to "cool down." Following that theory, the temperatures you're reporting could potentially be takeen as proof of Global Warming (except for the fact that they CAN'T because changes don't occur on a daily basis
There is also a theory that since Global Warming affects the temperature and salinity of our Oceans, deep-water currents will be heavily altered or perhaps shutdown leading to Abnormal weather and temperatures, not necessarily all-hot or all-cold ones. This can be referred to as the "Day After Tomorrow" theory.

I can see the "global" temperature had risen from 286.75 K to 287.65 K (plus or minus 0.1 K in each figure, the second decimal comes from the standard conversion between oC to K) in a period of 149 years. That is an average yearly increase of (21.2 +/- 4.7) ppm (parts per million).
At the same time the CO2 concentration had risen from 285 ppm to 375 ppm (plus or minus 10 ppm on each figure). This is an average yearly increase of (0.186 +/- 0.042) %.
If anything, it tells us that temperature is rather insensitive to the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. The reason why this graph looks so dramatic is because it had been zoomed in on the vertical axis of the temperature. For example, if this rate of increase continues, the global temperature should increase by 2 Co in a period between the next 267 and 420 years.

I posted the chart to show how climate change works, not to support global warming. CR doesn't understand how we could experience a few years of cooling, while the climate is actually increasing overall. I just couldn't find a good chart depicting climate change without showing the correlation to CO2 concentration.
I have no desire to join in a debate about global warming. I just wanted to show him why his "LOLOLOLOL its cold in florida in january!" argument was retarted.

Because we're suddenly getting a stream of arctic water, instead of our lovely, warm, tropical water. Global cooling would affect it, perhaps, but negligibly.

It would affect temperature, but not salinity.
Salinity is affected by themelting of various ice shelfs, which would cause the water to be less saline.

To answer your (sarcastic) question about water freezing through the current: it doesn't freeze throughout the current, only at "turning points" which are in an area where the water would freeze. Also not all of the water freezes, only some does (which is why I think mlting would have a greater effect because higher temperatures would melt all the ice that exists on Earth (and whether you're FE or RE you have to admit, the consensus is that there is a lot of ice on Earth!) rather than just some)
That is an excellent point about how density also effects the melting point of water, and I admit I didn't take that into account. I'd have to do some research and calculation to see how much of a balancing effect that would have.

I believed in God until I came to college and realized that the only reason I did was because that was how I was raised. You don't see very many educated atheists converting to Christianity. Most of the people who convert are living in poverty stricken 3rd world countries or under oppressive regimes who will cling to anything in hopes that they might have a better life someday. Although I don't deny that Christianity has done a lot for the Western world in terms of strong moral values such as redemption, forgiveness, the importance of the family and so on...

It's called 'climate' change for a reason you know. Over here they teach you how to distinguish between 'weather' and 'climate' in primary school.

This is a silly thread but its core is true. Global man-made climate change is an incorrect assumption made with poor analytical data. To think one can predict the climate's future without proper historical climate knowledge is ignorant at worst, laughable at best.

Some context is needed here. A couple billion years ago, early methanogens, who were at the time the dominant life form on Earth, caused so much global warming it killed them all off. These bacteria now exist only in geothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean. This allowed cyanobacteria to take control and fill the Earth with oxygen. Fast forward to a few hundred million years ago, in the Carboniferous period, when the dominant form of life was carboniferous plants. These replaced CO2 with O2 to the point that they caused massive global cooling and killed themselves off. Now we burn the fossils of those long dead plants as coal and oil and are returning all of that carbon to the atmosphere, thereby increasing the temperature. Why is this so hard to get?
