Arizona House GOP fails to expel Democrat over Bible prank  https://www.npr.org/2023/06/13/1182022488/arizona-house-censure-expulsion-bible-prank-ethics-investigation

Summary:
Guy hides bibles under seat cushions.
Republicans explode in fury as they may have sat on it.  Considering this to be an extrmely offensive act in Christianity.  Vote to ban pankster from the government.

Its like he burned the Koran in an islamic country....
Her name is Stephanie Stahl Hamilton. When does it say she burned a Koran in an Islamic country? I'm not seeing that in the article. The only reference to the Koran at all actually pointed out how ridiculous it was that other legislators had indicated her actions would have been offensive even if she had done her prank with another holy book, but there were specifically no other holy books in the members lounge where this happened. Which is kind of a problem, in that we're not supposed to be favoring any particular religion or holy book or anything else in state or federal government in the US. But that notwithstanding, you said "he" (meaning she) burned a Koran, and did so in an Islamic country, and I'm just not seeing that.

And sitting in those same secular halls, one of those Republicans asked who's reputation they cared more about - God's or Stephanie's - as if worrying about God's reputation when it comes to running a state legislature should even come up for conversation.

Okay, so who the fuck is this?

Cos it ain't Boystar. WISE!
It's a bit early where I'm at still and the caffeine isn't coursing through my veins nearly heavily enough for things like "reading" and "comprehension," ok? I want to hit my keyboard furiously and let the letters fall where they may, consequences be damned!

I was making an analogy. >_>
You did see the bit of "like" right?

And yeah, messed up pronouns there.
Nope, I did not ;D I completely skipped the word "like" somehow and it definitely changed the tone of the entire post lol.

Anyway, she was acting childish and doesn't come out of this looking like she made a really great and cutting prank. And all the pearl-clutching "oh mylanta, I done desecrated a bible" is more than a bit much and maybe just get your damn holy books out of the halls of government thank you very much. A stupid prank to point out a stupid hypocrisy that wasn't even an unknown hypocrisy needing the harsh light of reality shown upon it.

Will this help Stahl-Hamilton getting any actual legislating done? Probably not, and it'll probably make it harder in fact.

edit to add: Also, sorry for not taking a second to understand your post properly

I feel obligated to say, so far my immortality is still working out. I haven't died a single time since becoming immortal and it doesn't seem to be letting up
And how do we know if the AI killed you and replaced you with an organism that looked exactly like you and it managed you from afar? This needs to be tested, and the person who can perform this test, realdann, is around forum these days. I think we will soon find out the answers to these questions.

Are you really you? Or was you killed and replaced by an angry globalist, like it happened to the flat-earth ex scientist John Davis? Bythe way RIP real John.
Wait a tic... ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME RIGHT NOW??

I don't have a sandbox SMF set up anymore to even try to help point you in the right direction. But the smiley is there, it shouldn't need to be reuploaded, it should just need to be remapped to the key binding that looks like the crying face.

Well I promise I'm not, and I'd really rather not make another failed attempt at managing a ghost council if that's OK with you

We're all still alive so far, right? I still feel alive. Am I really here, or do I just think I am?
Are you a human dreaming of being a penguin, or a penguin dreaming of being human?
At least for now, I am the humannest human to ever have humanned. Have you ever seen a penguin stand on its hands like this?

Yes, it should be as easy as going into the Smileys admin area and remapping the missing smileys. And yet, still, I cannot cry. :'(

Hello all!
I don't get on well with social interaction so I will be retreating over that hill and pelting rocks at anyone who attempts to approach me. Thank you for understanding.
A hermit-werepenguin, I've seen this once before...

Just think. It took Russia a year to cause this level of destruction in Ukraine.

Mother nature did it in 5 minutes to turkey.
Russia tried to do this to Ukraine, and in doing so, Ukraine might have the same infrastructure damages sure. But, I'll raise you this: Russia's own level of human loss might be on par with the earthquake.

Radio transmissions exist. That is what a satellite receiver is picking up. It's radio waves, not satellite waves. Your language presumes there is a satellite, and that's kind of the opposite of the null hypothesis.

"Catastrophe risk firm Risklayer has raised its projected death toll in Turkey and Syria from the earthquakes to 45,330 (it was 34,520 yesterday)"

The cleaning and rebuilding are going to take a long time. The healing is going to take even longer. It's really hard to process the scale of destruction that happened, it still seems very surreal from my far-away vantage point.
