They could? And that's why they "could" have moons orbiting about them, like the moons we can see orbiting the spherical planets using telescopes here on earth? Or are telescopes a conspiracy as well?
So if other planets are spheres, and their moons orbit them, why would you have any reason to believe that The Earth is any different? Even if satellites didn't exist (which they do... sorry to say) and humans had never been into space, just looking outwards at the rest of the universe, we can look at other planets to understand ours.
