Not sure.  I tried to explain the situation best I could.  I think I did a better job of it than the Mail article you posted.

What did I miss?

You left out that the government put the word out publicly that councils should apply to cancel their elections and if they did that the government would approve it. This was not a council initiative, but a government one. That is important.

But the really big thing, the grey thing, the elephant if you will, which is not in the wild but in fact inside the room, is that this is a fig leaf of an excuse to cancel elections which are expected to go against the government and there is no excuse for it and a very sinister precedent it would be.

Also: Justice delayed is justice denied. Election delayed is election cancelled.

I don't think this is a great omission. It's a pathetic excuse for an authoritarian government to undermine democracy. That is the truth of the matter.

so you're on record here and now to say that if the gov't tried to cancel elections that they are predicted to lose, that would be sinister.
is that what we're hearing?

What surprise.  Daily Mail readers don’t need to know why the elections were going to be postponed.  Only to hear Reform telling them how terrible it all was.

The stated reason is not the actual reason. Mentioning it is bordering on spreading misinformation.

I haven't heard you apologize for your own omission anyway.

spreading misinformation is bad too and lying about the actual reason is also bad?
even in case of omission?

Where’s your apology for omitting all the things I explained for our fellow forum readers, and posting a Daily Mail article with zero information about the circumstances of these elections?

Oh there’s a fuck tonne more I could try to explain about it all, but I’m not going to write too much of an essay on the subject here. Just so you can declare some omissions are absolutely fine and demand an apology for others.  Which is in no way based on your hyper partisan bullshit of course.

There’s probably more I omitted I don’t fully understand myself.

I will add that we don’t all have local elections at the same time anyway.  Some councils have elections in May, others don’t, and some have partial elections.

My point is that there is no obligation for everyone to include every information. You didn't apologize, I didn't apologize, the Mail didn't apologize. That's fine.

I particular, those who abuse the power of government to undermine democracy don't deserve to be portrayed in the best light at every turn.

How does someone become as useless as Stormer?

Child rape.
Why would that be inciting terrorism?  Lorddave was merely describing a type of shop we have here in the US, a bomb-gun shop.  A shop that sells bomb-guns.

Whataboutism is the second to last refuge of the scoundrel.

I take it that you don't think it is significant that your psychopath PM is cancelling elections. Will you find it significant when the parliamentary elections are "postponed"?

What is your point?

That there was a by-election of a single seat and that somehow erases the fact that you psychopath PM has already cancelled multitude of elections?

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cqj9g11p1ezo

Starmer likes to pretend hes not a fan of Trump but when Trump rocks up in a limo and says "get in loser we are going to bomb Iran" Starmer lifts up the hem of his dress and jumps right in the back.

Hes a hypocrite like any other politician.
