Old piles with their roots in the slave trade have new owners, with theirs in the new postmodern slave systems of emergent economies and zero-hour contracts and the true Irony is that many of the reforms were enacted by the likes of the Earls of Shaftsbury’s, wealthy philanthropists working with the Unionised workers on hours, holidays, and healthcare, all these are now under threat again from the shiny faced Saville suited infinitely corruptible, reading from the bible of Gordon Gecko.
