Why do you support Rishi Sunak?
« on: October 23, 2022, 02:18:33 PM »
Well looks like your man Rishi Sunak will go on unopposed. So here is a poll (again) about Britain

I added an option for saying you don't support him. I understand that it can be hard to 'support' any conservitard no matter the country so the option is there

But how are the plebs feeling? Sick of the clown show? Maybe 3rd times the charm? Or is he just going to keep the seat warm for an inevitable loss next election because people are sick of this parties shit....

I saw one debate between him and the lettuce lady.  He seems less insane and more measured, definitely more charismatic.

This is the limits of what I know of him.  He could also be a total piece of shit.

I know nothing about him.  But I assume he'll fail because the country is kinda fucked and he's just gonna be there to take the shit that last lady didn't take.

So the person who lost to Liz Truss is set to replace her.  This should be good.

Anywho! I just got back from a break in north Wales for my missus’s birthday, took her ziplining on the fastest in the world and had her sister and family along who are all Tories, the son even works in Westminster, he kept coming in and giving us updates on Liz and the other shower until we pointed out that to us non-tory types, watching the undignified mess that is our ruling party, is akin to observing a horde of rats in a flooding basement scrambling over each other to be the last to drown, so could he please shut the fuck up and come back when they are all dead, because we just don’t give a shit,  he was quite shocked.

I tend to be in my most happy state when I am one comment away from pointing out somebody's potential sexual relationship with their mother, this has the added bonus of keeping my Christmas card list to a minimum along with a zero chance of unannounced visitations. On holiday I chill a bit.

I think there is a good chance the Tories will cling on without going to the country as they are surely aware that the only people who could lose to them would be convicted child killers in an ice cream van.

Nothing is forcing them for 2 years, especially as they have a large majority still.  Can't imagine we'll see one before then.

On Rishi.

With the press, the ones that clapped the NHS workers for working and dying during the pandemic, now saying that they, the postal workers, the train drivers, the border guards and the ambulance drivers that are striking this christmas are taking the taxes from the hard working (irony deficit) workers of Britain, backed by an unelected asshole who made his money in offshore tax free hedge funds, whose wife took non-domicile status to dodge £400million in taxes so the poor must carry the burden.

Is this irony? The truth as you see it? A meme of some sort? I will take it at face value because then my ego is placated, and the true spirit of Yuletide can flow.

I despair for my country, born when I was, we appeared to have begun the trek away from the gentry and the class system, but it was a hollow dream, the vast estates with people pinned beneath the expectation of servitude to Lord and Lady Bucktooth and their inbred haemophiliac offspring has morphed into a neoliberal nouveau-riche venality where the sense of entitlement comes not from the crest above the door or the old cavalry uniforms in the east-wing, but the offshore accounts buying the same school places, holidays in St Morritz and the black centurion or the Dubai first Royalle credit card approach to life, vis-à-vis, I have it, I deserve it and I’m going to keep it.
Old piles with their roots in the slave trade have new owners, with theirs in the new postmodern slave systems of emergent economies and zero-hour contracts and the true Irony is that many of the reforms were enacted by the likes of the Earls of Shaftsbury’s, wealthy philanthropists working with the Unionised workers on hours, holidays, and healthcare, all these are now under threat again from the shiny faced Saville suited infinitely corruptible, reading from the bible of Gordon Gecko.

This reminds me of the recent rail strike in the US. I don't know exactly what conservative media said about it. But I recall what the "liberal" media said about it. They said if a strike occurred that it would cripple the economy, that Christmas would be canceled, that it would hurt Joe Biden.

What they never said, what never was presented as a viable resolution to this, is to just give into the demands of the workers. They always framed it like the workers were causing trouble all the trouble.
