We've been to the moon, rovers have been to Mars, and we'er fairly sure that there is no life on the Sun.  So let's see, that covers stars, planets, and moons.

Uh, no you haven't. You've never been to space. Remember? Noone has ever been to space, and the space program money was spent on the high-quality imaging to make the doctored photos of the round earth. Have you even read Tom Bishop's posts?

You haven't, so how can you trust that anyone else has, much in the same way you can't trust the photos of the round earth?

Really, now.

You're talking about a flat Earth, and you have a history of becoming involved in too many discussions at once.  Your credibility is shot because you don't invest adequate effort in your endevours to prove a flat Earth in individual conversations.

Okay.  I was speaking generally about the position you espouse.  But this only further supports my point--rather than respond to the argument, you pick out some aspect of it and make a remark about that.

The point, here, is that you always bite off more than you can chew, and drop out when you don't know how to continue, rather than simply conceeding.

That is the most dick-headed statement you've ever made. Usually you don't do things like taking what people say and twisting it to meet your own expectations. It's obvious that I was explaining it using flat earth logic, and I was explaining why it doesn't make sense.

You were trying to explain using gravity.  The FE is gravitationally 'neutral'.

Yes, Im sure you have, but surely you can see the point I am making in my post?

Just because Earth has life, doesnt mean it has to be incredibly special. Whilst, yes, it is special because it holds life, why should that mean that everything else about it has to be special? Just because other planets dont hold life, yes, Earth is the execption in that one area. It would make sense that it should follow all the other patterns of the universe, rather than this "We are special. We have life, other planets dont, therefore, everything on Earth should be different. Well, some things should be different (gravity), and others should be the same (UA)"

Could it not just be that, shit happens, we're not that special, it just happens that our planet is mouldy.

I mean, its not my place to try and change anyones beliefs (my one main gripe with allot of religions, not, youre free to chose whats wrong/right, just "we = right, you = wrong"), but, it seems like allot of complicated explanations just because we live here.

Just my 2 cents

Look, people are missing the point here. As far as I can tell, the flat earth theory seems to be 'don't believe shit you haven't seen'.

TheEngineer has seen atoms, so he believes in atoms.
He has seen underwater life, so he believes in underwater life.
He hasn't seen the earth is round, so he doesn't believe the earth is round.

WORKS FOR ME.
