What's the last movie you saw?

Seems like there's a void here for a "now playing: movies" thread.

Last night I saw Annihilation.  Holy shit!  It was bananas.  It's supposed to be sci-fi but it was a more effective horror movie.  It's filled with nightmare fuel.

Solo

Infinity War, the second time around. I took my son to see it. I'm not a student of the comic book lore, so I don't want to get into a battle over everything the movie got wrong, I really enjoyed it and thought they told a great story.

I really liked infinity war.  It's a golden age for people like me who are comic book friendly but have never actually read a comic book.

That must have been a rough last 5 minutes for your son.  When I saw it there was a group of mentally handicapped people in the back row.  They were bawling at the end.

The Spider Man thing... Ugh. WHY?!

My son is 13 tomorrow. He too cool to show emotion about anything now.

Since there's going to be a Spiderman 2 coming out in the near future, it's safe to say all those who got dustified will be back.

Yeah, Black Panther and the Guardians have movies too. There will probably be a terribly predicable use of the Time Stone to fix everything. But I hope it doesn't end up feeling like the entire IW movie didn't matter.

Black Panther dying is when I knew the ending was bs.  Like they're going to kill off the guy who made them a billion dollars in his first movie.

Remember, Dr. Strange said there was one out of millions of possibilities in which they win. Giving Thanos the time stone was the only way.

That line did stand out to me.  I'm not sure what to think of that.  It sounds like it could have been a clue.  It also sounds like a script writer trying just find something to say.

Maybe Thanos will have a change of heart and reverse things. Or maybe Captain Marvel will come in and wreck shit.

World's worst superheroes. They could have won in multiple stages easily yet they all fucked up one after the other. Fuck 'em.

I'm not too familiar with the comic book lore.

Me neither. I asked the Google bot and it told me that. My comic nerd friends that are familiar with the lore said yes, but they also said there's no way Hulk should have been man-handled like he was if they were at all concerned with they way things went down in the comics.

He only had the power stone at that point; it was the beginning. And it wasn't glowing, which means he wasn't using it.
