Barely anyone on this site believes in an accelerating Earth, people patrolling Antarctica is nonsense, roundies are the only ones that claim to know the shape of the disc, no one thinks the Sun hides under the sea...

It that because barely anyone on this site is actually a flat earther?

However, the accelerating disc, ice wall, UN/NASA patrols, etc. seem to be common ideas bandied about on YouTube, so it’s not surprising a newcomer would think they represent most flat earthers.

As for the sun, it certainly looks like it dips below sea level, which is not exactly well explained by any flat earthers I’ve spoken to.

More often than not youtubers are in it for the ad revenue and merch, cheap publicity and cash rather than the science. Though true, there are far too few FEers on this site because the constant lies and harassment put about by you roundies is fucking exhausting to deal with.

That's been trivially explained for ages. It gets further away, it seems to get closer to the Earth's surface.

Given too that the Sun is a spotlight and only one face is lit, as it gets further away you'd see it 'flatten' against the horizon, thus vanishing bottom-up as it's cut out of view by the unlit side, literally being cut off bottom-up.

Well we can agree on the youtubers thing at least.

The problem with you perspective argument is the geometry doesn’t add up. At least for common descriptions of the flat earth model.

Take someone on the equator at one of the equinoxes.  The sun should be circling so it passes directly overhead.

Assume the north pole to equator distance is the same for FE as RE and using the 3000 mile high sun that’s often quoted.  I make the sun should be 18.8 deg above the horizon at 6am and 6pm (roughly sunrise and sunset).  Even at midnight it should still be 13.5 deg above the horizon.

That’s best case.  If the circumference of the equator of the FE is the same as RE, the angles are about 20 deg and 28 deg respectively.

And that’s just at the equator.  It gets worse for northern hemisphere summer, as this means an even smaller orbit for the sun, putting it higher in the sky.  Anyone north of the tropic of cancer is within the sun’s orbit, making it even closer at max distance.

To make the sun appear to get anywhere near the horizon, it needs to be much much closer than the 3000 miles often cited.  But that’s going to cause other problems.

It needs more of an explanation than just perspective.

Also your description of the sun disappearing bottom up doesn’t seem to fit with a spotlight sun shining down.  Surely it would be the other way round?

**Frankly, I and most others do not believe that the Bible was ever intended to teach science or cosmology in particular. **
Sighed heavily. You did not see the Bible at all, if you say that. The Bible is the guide for the management of our and matter in particular. Even the quantum mechanics is explained in the Bible - moreover, scientists could not even dream of it. It is unfortunate that many people think that our world is a ball. Moreover, this has already been transmitted in the church. Soon priests even - aliens will baptize. I roughly drew what our land looks like. This is just a drawing of the scheme without pritenzii on the accuracy of the type and location of the continents.
And sorry for my English.

Lol ... I understand that all the trolls who believe in the ball do not believe in God. Well, if they read the Bible, they could ask less stupid questions.
You mean like asking a bunch of questions which show your Bible to be wrong?

If the Bible contradicts reality, the Bible is wrong, not reality.
If you are going to dismiss reality because it contradicts the Bible, you have no argument.

Even the quantum mechanics is explained in the Bible
There is a fundamental difference between being explained in the Bible and people manipulating the text to pretend it is there.
Likewise people would also say Earth being round is in the Bible.

It is unfortunate that many people think that our world is a ball.
No, it is unfortunate that many people reject this fact due to religious nonsense.

I roughly drew what our land looks like. This is just a drawing of the scheme without pritenzii on the accuracy of the type and location of the continents.
And that is the problem.
If you just want a rough drawing, you can get anything.
Try an accurate one, which accurately matches the shapes and sizes and relative locations of the continents.
That one doesn't even come close with the great distances between the southern continents.

That might be your opinion, but not that of many others.

You claim that "It is unfortunate that many people think that our world is a ball" but that could easily be explained by the rather obvious fact that the earth is a huge ball.

You might think yourself more knowledgeable than almost everybody else but as I pointed out before people such as
  • Bede, Martin Luther and John Calvin, all devout and well respected Christians certainly believed and taught that the earth was a Globe.

    And sorry for my English.

But that certainly does not match reality and that is why it is not accepted as the layout of the continents.

Personally, I believe that the Bible presents though does not "teach" a flat stationary earth with a dome etc and this is presented in:
The Flat-Earth Bible © 1987, 1995 by Robert J. Schadewald, Reprinted from The Bulletin of the Tychonian Society #44 (July 1987)
But Robert J. Schadewald, himself, certainly does not believe that the earth is flat and stationary.

I know many others think differently and try to claim that the Bible does support a Globe earth.

Whatever the case, few people believe that the Bible is intended to present any more than the "Way of Salvation" and, of course, be a guide to the Christian life.

In a sense I see you belief as just another sect that maybe could be labelled "Biblical neo-Flat Earthism".
I use the term "neo-Flat Earthism" quite seriously because:
    • your flat earth ideas are certainly not those of the Book of Enoch as they follow the teachings of Rowbotham, not Scripture, so to me they are new, hence the "neo-" and
    • I use the "Earthism" implying that it certainly has all the characteristics of a religious cult.

I know very well that, in most cases, it is quite pointless debating with cult members, so further debate is pointless.

hoof knock on admiration, nobody has ever equated me with a sectarian  :)
And how can a weather pegasus enter a sect?
They do not take it there, since I'm Broni.
I can only please you in one, I am a former member of one of the directions of the Illuminati - therefore I know many things that go beyond the usual understanding of religion. Understanding the structure of our world is one of them.
I'm generally surprised (although not - it's more like it should be) that there are those who intend to change the facts to please themselves.
Unfortunately, I do not speak English, but even translate bellowing that article, I was not surprised how they manipulate the facts. The discussion about religion is not the conversation of this forum.
We have superpositions of determining the sides of the world.
As the definition for the four sides of the heavens is the East, North, West, South, located over the four edges.
So the east, the center, the west, the edge - to determine the movement of land and navigation.
