FLAT PLANETS FIGURED OUT LOL

try this experiment!  you need these two things:

a spherical object

and your eyes!

1.) ok put it on a table

2.) kneel down so it is at eye level with you

3.) look at it.

it looks 2d! woo

if that isn't enough proof, take a picture of it at that level. now look at the picture! compare it to a picture of a planet.
he kinds of equations that they have now are the kinds of equations you would get in an approximation scheme to some underlying theory, but nobody knows what the underlying theory is.

Well, all pictures are flat, so that just proves the FE theory even more.

What a moron you are!

Is your brain flat too?

I'm afraid not, SD. That would only mean that everything you look at is "flat". What you're describing is a two-dimensional image. We can only percieve a flat image when looking upon something that is "3D". However, when moving around it, you can clearly see its other dimensions through the use of your two-dimensional optical senses.

When moving around, do you clearly see a planet's other dimensions through the use of your two-dimensional optical sense?

I would, had I been in space when I moved around it. The Earth is much to large for me to comprehend any curvature while I move around its surface. Of course, like you, to actually prove any of this, I would have to travel into space myself and orbit the Earth a bit to really prove it to you. Or would I?

The only way you could prove it to me would be to take ME out into space to orbit the Earth. If I can't personally verify it, why should I believe it? I don't have to see it, I merely have to be able to perform some kind of experiment that will prove to me that the Earth is round. FE'ers refuse to accept arguments from authority.

If we find them logically invalid, yes. Otherwise, no.

The concept of the Earth being spheric is not "logically invalid". You just disagree with it. It has plenty of logic and reasoning behind its concept.

That isn't what I meant. I simply mean that all the arguments we have so far heard against the Earth being flat are logically invalid. Either model fits the facts nearly equally well. FE simply has the advantage of not requiring you to accept data you can't verify for yourself.

What does that prove? The Earth appears flat as far as most people can tell. If you want to show me that the Earth does not actually have the shape it appears to, you will have to give me evidence I can verify for myself- not arguments from authority. I cannot verify the accuracy of space photos myself- I am forced to rely on the testimony of experts with no way for me to judge their credibility on the subject.

On a flat Earth, do you think we should be able to see forever in all directions? Of course not. The atmosphere is a chaotic medium. Beyond a certain point, atmospheric distortion renders objects invisible. Look at a mountain near the horizon. Is it clearly visible? No. It is pale and blurry. Look at this picture:

The mountain in the foreground is clear; the mountain in the background is blurry. I'm sure you've noticed this effect before. Were the mountain a bit further away, you would barely be able to see it at all.
