My insight into nuclear weapons is limited to know a Nobel Prize winner, MS, that was asked to build a Swedish a-bomb 1945, which he accepted with subjects, and a nice German, Wilhelm M, that happened to assist Stalin building a fake Soviet a-bomb 1946/58 with 0.01% uranium from Wismut AG ore. It suffices for me.

I liked MS 1964 that advised me to avoid physics.
I agree with MS wholeheartedly. You should avoid physics because you are so bad at it.

MS got the Nobel Prize physics for his work about structures of matter in the 1920’s. So 1945 the Swedish government asked MS to be head of Swedish military,
secret weapons research and build a Swedish atomic bomb. MS agreed subject to all findings becoming public after proper peer review. The Swedish government didn’t like that and asked MS to shut up about his finding that nuclear weapons were fake news and propaganda. Rockefeller gave MS $1M to improve his research lab (and shut up).
1964 I discussed the matter with MS who correctly observed that physics was mainly low paid teacher jobs unless you faked it and invented research of all kind, incl. atomic bombs and humans in space. Thus to be avoided.
1999 I met WM who in his youth 1946/58 had worked for Wismut AG, East Germany, producing uranium so Stalin could build his atomic bomb that
‘exploded’ 1949. The bomb was built by other slaves in Siberia. Wismut AG was a German slave labour camp run by the KGB digging holes in the ground producing nothing but propaganda. WM spoke Russian and was employed as an expert of kind to keep the illusion alive. It was hard times. In the end WM was arrested and tortured and expelled from East Germany. A sad story.
