The Black Sun
« on: September 06, 2017, 01:57:07 PM »
To the best of my understanding, in Flat Earth Logic, an eclipse is caused an object of some sort other than the moon (I'll simply refer to it as the Black Sun) obstructing the Sun's light from shining on the Earth momentarily, causing a shadow that sweeps across the land.

I have seen wonderful debates about how the shadow is too big or small, to fast or to slow to be caused by the Moon.

I guess, my question is... Can someone please explain the techniques that a Flat Earther would use to predict a future or previous Solar Eclipse.

This is a generalized article about how Scientists predict them... (then and now) but it is all Moon based.
https://www.space.com/37128-how-to-predict-eclipse-2017-path.html

I am hoping that a Flat Earther would enlighten me on:

1) Why predictions of Solar Eclipses provided by Round Earth Sources are believed by Flat Earthers and accurate
2) Do Flat Earthers have their own technique for predicting Solar/Lunar Eclipses?

3) If so, Please share your technique so that I may try it out!!! (I love a good ol' Peer Review)

4) Do Scientists have a better understanding of the Black Sun than Flat Earthers? If So, why? And what is preventing Flat Earthers from such knowledge?

Thanks!

To the best of my understanding, in Flat Earth Logic :
(1) "The Black Sun" is sometimes called "The Black Object"
(2)This "Black Object" is invisible  since it is "always lost in the glare of the sun."
(3) The moon and the sun are the same size (32 miles in diameter) and the same distance from the earth (3000 miles)
(4) The moon and the sun are in the same orbit.
(5) Apparently the moon and the sun are always exactly spaced (opposite)apart in this orbit (180 degrees apart)
(6) Apparently when it is daylight (sunlight) on one side of the earth it is always dark (moonlight) on the opposite side of the earth.
(7) The sun "acts like a spotliight" and shines down only on the earth.
( 8  ) The moon is self-illimunating" by some "bioluminenescent"(spelling ?) subject or creatures which cause the phases of the moon.
(9)A lunar eclipse occurs when the "Black Object" gets between the moon and the earth and blocks the light from the moon.
(10) A solar eclipse occurs when the "Black Object" gets between the sun and the earth and blocks the light from the sun.

This is the best of my understanding.???
I am hoping flat earth corrections would be appreciated and made  where necessary !

Stick close , very close , to your P.C.and never go to sea
And you all may be Rulers of The Flat Earth Society

Look out your window , see what you shall see
And you all may be Rulers of The Flat Earth Society

Chorus:
Yes ! Never, never, never,  ever go to sea !

This seems to be all that "the Wiki" or "the FAQ" and it is listed under:

As to the answer to "Do Flat Earthers have their own technique for predicting Solar/Lunar Eclipses?"
The only answer seems to be "Saros Cycles", which did come from the Babylonians and they did believe that the earth to be flat.

Methinks this is a good example of a broken clock being right twice a day.  Saros cycles can predict eclipses and the Babylonians did believe the Earth to be flat it isn't the case that the two are mutually inclusive.

Thank you, and my follow up would be...

Have any Flat Earther's used the Saros Cycles to predict any previous or future (or more distant future) Eclipses of any sort.

Please...
