How do GPS devices work?

Hello. I am curious how flat earthers explain the operation of GPS (Glopbal Positioning System) devices?

I have a hand held GPS unit which accurately give me my current co-ordinates on Earth. It is claimed by the manufacturers that this device operates by receiving signals from artificial satellites which have been launched by the US government into orbit around the (apparently spherical) Earth.

In a flat earth this system of global position satellites saying would be impossible, how does my GPS device in fact work?
