Several Questions i have yet to find answers for.
« on: June 16, 2016, 08:41:07 PM »
1. What about the subsolar point? It is the point where the sun is directly above an area making it look like things dont have shadows and creates a weird 2d effect. However the sub solar point does not follow either the equator or either tropic, rather it fluctuates and passes through them (equinoxes) but the only flat earth models i have seen show the sun hovering over the equator and tropics for far too long.

2. Almost directly relating to that is the fact that some days are shorter and longer depending on where the earth is in relation to the sun. With a globe traveling in an ellipse, there is a portion of the cycle where the earth is closer and farther away so for a single point on the globe to be positioned facing the sun everyday is just not quite 24 hours (Solar day). It needs to movie just a little bit more to complete a solar day (rather than sidereal day) since the earth is farther away from the sun that extra rotation takes longer than when the earth is closer and these things are measurable and its also  contribute to leap days. So because days are not consistent throughout the year, our clocks go through a cycle of  running slow, then fast, then slow, and then fast again and that's because of the ellipse shaped orbit around the sun. so how is this possible in flat earth theory (and no this is not some crackpot government lie, this is a phenomenon that has been observed for thousands of years)

3. Eclipses and just planetary shadows in general. Can you come up with an explanation for eclipses, with a system that also correctly predicts eclipses as people do not using a globed earth.

4. Gravity. So it is a fact that gravity could not create a plane so I hear the theory of "the earth bubble (or whatever) is moving at 8.9 m/s which creates a gravity like effect(universal acceleration)" density shit dosnt work because that would mean that things that are heavier would fall faster and any high school physics teacher can show you experiments with a couple balls or a textbook and a piece of paper that prove that. So the only other one is this earth is at 8.9 m/s bull shit so just how?? If the earth is moving at a certain speed and we are on it, then we are moving at that speed along with everything else ( just like in a car ) so wouldn't things just float? the only possible explanation would be that there is an atmosphere beyond the dome where air can pass through a wind just pushes everything but obviously thats not true so what is it? because its not universal acceleration.

5. Meteors/asteroids. what are they if space apparently doesn't exist (even know we have one meteors that have hit earth and they have been studied)
I think that's it for now, please respond because so far i cannot get a single answer from anybody about these things

(watch this for maybe a better explanation for question 2)
http://prntscr.com/bhe3ro (from the vsauce video above about how to subsolar point goes across the earth)

*edit* i have just become aware of the "shadow object" now this is proof that all of this is just bullshit. you dont actually have evidence for things so you just make it up to fit this fairy tale land you have created. Its like having a published book that has a bunch of plot holes and so every time you go through it and find a plot hole you publish and add on chapter thats like "oh yea and for that interaction that didnt make sense, here is the explanation. now pretend the entire book goes along with this always being in it" thats just not valid. The globe model is relatively simple, earth, sun, moon, they move like this, and it explains all of these observable phenomena AND we can fully explain how each of these object function on their own and just what they are, but with the shadow object its just a mysterious thing that blocks out the sun occasionally for no apparent reason.
*edit again*

6. Explain the building in Dubai where at a certain floor the sun sets 2 minutes later.
7. Explain why traveling around the equator takes longer than traveling around the Tropic of Capricorn. If the flat earth model were to be correct it would have to be some way where the circumference of the equator is larger than the circumference of the tropic of Capricorn but its not like that.

With a globe traveling in an ellipse, there is a portion of the cycle where the earth is closer (summer) and farther away (winter)

Not how the round Earth theory works at all.

Round Earth theory relies on Earth's tilt to explain seasons.

kind of sleep deprived and was being bad and getting my subsolar point stuff mixed with my elipse stuff so i kind of just put things in without context sorry. statement still works tho and my questions still stand

It's got to do with the earth's axis of rotation versus the direction of the sun.  Information can be found here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Season

Basically, in a RE cosmology, seasons derive from the fact that the earth's orbit is tilted relative to the sun.  The axis of rotation does not change as the earth orbits the sun.  Thus, at some points of the year, the northern hemisphere spends more time closer to the sun.  This is summer in the northern hemisphere.  At the same time, the southern hemisphere is pointing generally away from the sun, making it winter.

Fast forward to the opposite end of Earth's transit around the sun, and the northern hemisphere points generally away from the sun, leading to winter conditions.  At the same time, the southern hemisphere points toward the sun, making it summer.

Basically, if your half of the globe is closer to the sun, it gets more light and stays warmer.  This is summer.  On the opposite end of the Earth's orbit, your half of the globe is farther from the sun and it is colder.  This is also why equatorial zones are generally warmer year-round.  They are never that far from the sun.

Still unaware of your own RE theory.

ok yea i understand and concede it was a stupid mistake and fixed my first post but you guys are still just ignoring my questions and (bullwinkle) being very rude which is a trend i have noticed on this website quite a bit.

still just waiting for answers

oh and the axis dosnt change, but rather the position of where the earth is relative to the sun changes.

I am not sure what you are confused about.

And you are the very embodiment of that concept.

Just stick to one question at once, and you might get a reply.

The problem is that several of your questions would require a coherent flat earth model, of which none exists (for obvious reasons).

By the way, the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s/s  not a speed of 8.9 m/s.  They use the equivalence principle to argue that if the earth were accelerating at 9.8 m/s/s through space, then on the surface it would be indistinguishable from gravity.  The main problem with that is that gravity varies across the surface planet and is not universal.  Also, we are clearly not moving through the universe at a hair's breadth from the speed of light - things would look pretty weird if we were.

yea i mean just the fact that there isnt a coherent model yet and that not a single person has been able to answer these questions all over the internet (especialy the subsolar point one) is enough to know that its bullshit.

You ask questions that really should be answered by a knowledgeable "Flat Earther" who can explain these things. The trouble is that as far as I know none of the posters fit that description.
