FES is destructive.
« on: October 16, 2015, 01:28:20 PM »
This is a post to say that each of you Flat Earthers are damaging to all of mankind.

You slightly increase the odds of our species' extinction (as does good science abused by technology and industry, as does environmental damage etc. as does political corruption etc.)  because of your vigorous attempt to spread stupidity and error for the sake of masturbating yourselves.

It is worse than any purely reasonless belief, or attempt to explain things through spirituality, which can be quite healthy.

Your beliefs are harmful not simply because of what they are, but because of the dysfunction by which you acquire them, and your inability or refusal to challenge them yourselves.

You are simply using very BAD (non)science, very BAD (il)logic, very BAD critical reasoning and what's worse:

Your beliefs are purely masturbatory, with no deep basis in anything other than what comforts you personally.

You are, bluntly, afraid to be wrong. This makes you cowards.

Stop being pussies, and engage in real research, without any attempt to validate either FE or RE.

See what you find.

My next post will follow with a series of questions that will seriously challenge FE, and I bet you that not a single one of them can be answered with even a modest degree of competence or critical reasoning skills, and still support FE theory.

We'll see who is man/woman enough to take that bet.

Sorry for this one guys. I was over the line here and unfair, just pissed and ranting.

Just couldn't believe this exists. It really is a damaging belief, but at least it's not as bad as racism.

At least it's an exercise of free speech and open exploration of a topic.

I also do appreciate your skepticism and hesitance at making assumptions or being spoonfed the ideas of others.

See ya 'round, and good luck trying to answer any of the 33 questions.

I'm actually undecided here, but I have to wonder how *anyone's* beliefs on either side are destructive.

Maybe destructive to one's comfort zone.

Maybe if FE's are right, it would be destructive to N(ever) A S(traight) A(nswer).

Personally, it doesn't really matter to me if it's round, flat, a cube, or a pyramid.  Though I don't really like being lied to.
