Yendor,   Here's one for you to track.

QF27  Sydney to Santiago,   currently  on NewZealand ADS-B    http://flightaware.com/live/flight/QFA27/history/20150706/0125ZZ/YSSY/SCEL

11,400 distance on great circle route,   estimated flight time is  11 hours 25 minutes,   departure from Sydney was delayed by 25 minutes.

If they average 960 kph,   or  520 knots,   that's  11 hours,  48 minutes roughly,

How far is it on the Gleason map from Sydney to Santiago?

That QF27 flight arrived about an hour ago,  flight time actual was 11 hours 52 minutes,   average speed  950 kph,  not allowing for time between landing and gate arrival.

They didn't pick up on the Santiago ADS-B either,  as they usually do,  but  the SCL  FIDS system clocked the flight as landed at 11:35 CLT.

Looks like a code share with LAN 806,  same aircraft.

It's high time Mark Sargent retracted his silly clues video in shame.   ( I doubt he reads this forum anyway. ) ;D

You guys are right. I guess I should have never expected any interest from you. Sorry I even mentioned it.

I should have know better,  Rodney has gone off sulking.   Maybe he's spending all his time watching Mark Sargent videos?

Hello Everyone,

The link below will take you to a good map of the flat Earth in 1892, for those who hasn't seen it before. Have a good day.

There is a topic thread on the tfes.org website about "Gleason's Map Restored" . There is the usual flat earth nonsense and a long tirade about projections and  that Gleason's Map is not a projection. But of course it is just a copy of the Unipolar Azimuthal Equidistant map.

I am wondering if Gleason did claim that it was of his own invention and something new ?

There is even a copy of "Middleton's Map" which is even worse. It looks like a scrawl that a kid in  kindergarten would draw. Correction : IMHO a kid in kindergarten could draw a better map. I didn't mean to insult the kids in kindergarten.
