There is a topic thread on the tfes.org website about "Gleason's Map Restored" . There is the usual flat earth nonsense and a long tirade about projections and that Gleason's Map is not a projection. But of course it is just a copy of the Unipolar Azimuthal Equidistant map.
I am wondering if Gleason did claim that it was of his own invention and something new ?
There is even a copy of "Middleton's Map" which is even worse. It looks like a scrawl that a kid in kindergarten would draw. Correction : IMHO a kid in kindergarten could draw a better map. I didn't mean to insult the kids in kindergarten.
