Circumnavigation Problem
« on: December 12, 2014, 06:11:47 PM »
According to FET, circumnavigation is simply traveling in a circular shape around the disk, correct?  But if this were true, if I took off eastward in a plane from Anchorage, Alaska and landed westward back in anchorage, it would be a MUCH shorter distance than if I took eastward off from say,  Sydney, Australia and landed westward in Sydney.  However, in RET these distances are almost the same.
(Please don't respond with something along the lines of "HAVE U EVR FLON FRM SIDNEE AROWND DA WURLDS?  PROOV IT!")

Most flat earthers are not online at this time of day, I believe that it's something to do with timezones.
I am having a video war with Jeranism.
See the thread about it here.

Be patient, they are still circumnavigating the Earth to verify your claim

Flat earthers verifying a claim?  As if.  I bet they will just say that the planes are purposely sped up and slowed down to make the flight times agree with a round Earth, which would add pilots to the lengthening list of people who are in on the alleged conspiracy.

As well as the copilots, flight attendants, airport officials, air traffic controllers, and airline security officers. Not to mention the insurance companies,  who in the event of some kind of damage will have to take the distance of the flight into account.

Most of that will be bots.

Another "Flat Earth Theory" is that there is some kind of a "time dilation" south of the equator which accounts for the distances and shapes on the so-called "Flat Earth Map" (Which is actually just a plain ole' Azimuthal Equidistant Map of the globe).

Others say there really is no "Flat Earth Map." ???

I have also noticed that a flat earther called
"iWitness" seems to pop in, paste a lot of copypasta and then disappear when  you start stating facts. And then he accuses all "Round Earthers" for -quote-"Believing"-unquote- those things and they are all atheists for doing so. He seems to be a disciple of sceptimatic and sandokhan. Just some of my IMHO's, which at least one moderator says I use too much. Cheers ! While we await the return of the flat earthers. LOL.

Another of iWitness' examples.:

He -quote- "knows" and for the "Truth" (with a capital "T") - unquote - that the distance from the earth to the sun and moon are equal and 100 to 200 miles from the earth.

Ham radio operators have calculated the distance to the moon as approximately 238,150 miles. I suppose , according to iWitness, that all hams are quote-"atheists"- unquote for quote-"believing"- that this is so instead of the "Truth" (with a capital "T") of his measurements.

That means that ham radio operators must be in on the conspiracy too along with astronauts, government officials, airplane pilots, south pole expeditioners, ect...

It would be interesting to see how two people at both hemisphere chat via Skype. One will have high pitch because his time is faster than that of the other, vice versa.

Careful guys, you keep spouting this shit and we might end up spawning a new branch of flat earth "science"
I have 13 [academic qualifications] actually. I'll leave it up to you to guess which, or simply call me a  liar. Either is fine.
