Second solar storm hits Earth 13 September 2014
« on: September 13, 2014, 04:17:18 AM »

This worldwide astrophysical phenomena is going to be extremely difficult for the flat earthers to deny.  It's also going to be impossible for them to explain it using any of their current flat earth theories.  The only scientific explanations are all bound to the accepted spherical earth model and its associated model of the universe.

Second Solar Storm Hits Earth

This is an image taken in Tasmania (Australia) last night 12 September:

"A second of two major solar storms has hit the Earth, creating ideal conditions for colourful night skies over polar regions, but also creating the risk of disruption to communications and power networks.

Solar wind conditions suggest that this activity will continue for many hours and aurora watchers should be in for a good treat," the centre said, adding it would issue warnings if more "intense storming" occurs.

The second of two solar storms, in the form of a coronal mass ejection (CME) from a solar flare, hit Earth on Friday (US time) following the first burst a day earlier".

Can't wait until the good old jroa comes.

Hmmm... 56 "views" and not one flat earther game to address this major repudiation of their entire flat earth hypothesis.

I wonder why?    ;D

Or it could be that the thread is uninteresting? How many times have "scientists" claimed that solar storms will cause havoc on earth? Yawn. Your low res photo adds to the uninteresting nature of the topic.

So anyone who engages with you on an internet forum is a "stalker"?  Right.  Sounds like you have paranoid delusions.

Here's an idea for avoiding your "stalkers": fuck off somewhere else.

Uh... a little clue for you Jimmy.  You're not "engaging" with me;  you're simply following me around these forums posting insults against me.  If you can somehow take some instant "adult" pills, then I'll be more than happy to debate stuff with you, but if you choose to continue with your schoolyard antics, then be prepared to suffer the intellectual contempt you deserve.

I also have to compliment you on your use of the infamous Anglo-Saxon expletive.  Or not.  Shakespeare, however, would be pleased (The Merry Wives of Windsor, act four, scene one.)

Of course I do jroa.  That wasn't my point.

Are you claiming that not even one of the (now) 230 people who've viewed this topic thus far is a flat earther who's prepared to offer some sort of comments about these solar storms?

And can I ask why you've (again) avoided addressing a perfectly legitimate subject yourself, and instead posted one of your increasingly common rhetorical responses?  Would you care to tell us how these solar storms affect your flat earth model, or if they do, or even if you consider they don't exist as described by numerous scientific observers?  Do you accept the legitimacy of the images posted in the article I linked to?

And if you don't accept the light displays and radio interference are caused by solar eruptions, what alternative suggestions can you offer based on the flat earth model?

Solar storms/flares supposedly taking out the grid and causing this and that and yet nothing ever happens. It's the same with meteors. We get told of near misses and all kinds hitting earth but only small ones breaking up, yet good old sphere, Mother Earth's so called gravity never pulls any big stuff into it to kill us all.

These magnetic interferences are a bit closer to home than people think...as it, right at home, which is why we have the nothern lights and such like.

Anything to keep us all scared and controlled.

Tell that to the people of Quebec:
On March 10, a strong wind left the Sun, heading for Earth. On March 12, the first voltage fluctuations were being seen on the Hydro-Québec transmission grid. The System Control Centre was doing what it could to maintain stability. However, on March 13 at 2:44 a.m., the Earth's magnetic field was fluctuating violently. The grid's protection system was triggered, and a blackout occurred in less than a minute! The province was submerged in darkness for more than nine hours.

Do you agree they could be telling you any old guff?
Anywhere can have a blackout of a system fails and they can attribute it to anything they want. A solar flare just fits in nicely and sort of plants the seed in the minds of those who are willing to hang onto this kind of stuff.

All I'm saying to you is, it's possible, right?

Simple answer?  Yes.  With my own eyes.  As per the first image I posted.

Conversely, do you have any viable reason to believe that this report is bogus?  And can you explain any possible motivation for people all over the world to quietly accept its falsity if it was?

Nope.  It was taken by a Tasmanian woman named Julie Head. Is that critical in any particular way?

(And I'm assuming you have some sort of reading disability?  Her name appears in the photo's caption.)

No, its just that you said you saw the storm with your own eyes, which is demonstrably false just by reading your own posts.  What I assume you meant to say is that you saw a picture of the storm.  That is what you meant right?
