Making an official theory
« on: August 30, 2014, 02:14:51 AM »
Sceptimatic, Jroa, Goth, Vauxhall... So many of you people have your own versions of the Flat Earth Theory. Why can't you just put your minds together and figure something out? This may be more of a complaint, but I ask this question of all of you: Why the mixup? How can you defend a theory that has dozens of different versions, most of them contradicting each other? You need to fix this, or else the whole site might as well be scrapped.

Everyone is a free thinker.  We do not have one single model simply because each of us has our own ideas.  We do study each other's models; so there is no need for us to get together and come up with a single model.

But this isn't a site for coming up with different theories for the Earth's existence. This is a site supporting the Flat Earth, and proving its existence. There is a difference between being a free thinker and making up an idea as you go along. I hate to quote this for you, but remember: a house divided cannot stand. It is especially true when it's only about ten people against a planet.

Q1)   Why do flat earthers not yet have a consistent flat earth model after several millennia since it was first proposed?

Q2)   Why is it that ALL round earthers agree absolutely on the oblate spheroid model?

Don't hold your breath too long ! :-)
Stick close , very close , to your P.C.and never go to sea
And you all may be Rulers of The Flat Earth Society

Look out your window , see what you shall see
And you all may be Rulers of The Flat Earth Society

Chorus:
Yes ! Never, never, never,  ever go to sea !

A1) Truth has never been popular and always gets suppressed. True scientists are always few in numbers and can never raise sufficient funds for real science. Gatekeepers never let the true knowledge to spread.
A2) Probably because they are all fools. Official NASA picture&footage show earth clearly as perfect sphere. Surely NASA would never produce any false evidence or lie about such an important fact, would it?

There are around 6,000,000 accredited scientists across the planet.  All of them accept that the earth is an oblate spheroid.  Can you name me any that accept that the earth is flat?  And "truth" has nothing at all to do with popularity;  it is what it is regardless.

So now you're seriously claiming that all those six million scientists, and the planet's 7 billion population are "fools"?  But at the same time, you admit to being one of the herd of paranoid NASA conspiracists?

Did it ever occur to you that all those millions of scientists may accept that the earth is spherical simply because it is?  Just ask Occam.

Your arguments are easily refutable but I don't want to be dragged into a debate.
Let me try it this way.

I don't get what that guy on the video is on about. He wants a video of earth and moon, finds two, proceeds to complain that there aren't any?

You don't care about coming up with a single model?! How can you claim to care about knowing the truth about the Earth and the universe while not caring whether there is one model that explains it?  Are you really saying that you don't care whether there is an ice dome or not?  That all you really care about is the free exchange of unproven, independent theories?

What do FE'ers think about coming up with coherent models?

That first phrase pretty much sums it up. Free thinkers are allowed to think up whatever they want. You're "closed minded" if you demand constraints like internal consistency and coherence in your ideas.

Playing "what if" is a fun parlor game, and, like reading science fiction, it can be amusing to see what people can come up with, especially if asked to explain some known phenomenon that hadn't been considered yet. Just don't count on getting much that's of practical use, like accurately predicting time of sunrise or when and where a solar eclipse will occur, based only on these ideas.

This is such a funny cop-out.  Thanks for the laugh my friend.    ;D

You're obviously choosing not to debate—on a debating forum—because you can't defend your position with any viable evidence.

Geoff, as an ex militant atheist myself I know your view quite well. I'm here to share, exchange, see through other people's eyes and help/learn. I'm not a debater, I hate debaters and I regard it as a sickness, the worst form of bullying and a complete waste of time/energy. Debaters never care about the truth and debates can never amount to true knowledge. Any idiot can master some debating techniques and intimidate, bully and silence people. Wining Winning a debate doesn't mean you are right, honest or truthful.

I've shared my findings and tried to answer your questions to the best of my ability. At least I readily admit that I am an ignorant person. Take it or leave it why do you have to ridicule and insult people. You act like a science worshiper. Are you getting paid for this or just obsessed with the forum?

My sincere advise: take a break, question your motives and have more respect for human dignity if you want yours to remain intact.
