Ice Wall Questions
« on: July 27, 2014, 09:41:45 AM »
Hi so i've read the FAQ and i don't do a lot of travelling cos i'm quite poor.

I'm really interested about this ice wall though! How tall is it? How thick is it? How come it never melts? Has anyone ever climbed to the top? Do wildlings really actually exist? I'd love to meet an ice giant one day.

Thanks :D

But how is it known that there is a land mass encompassing the known earth if no one has ever been there?

Who said no one has ever been there?  I did not say that.  In fact, people go to Antarctica all the time.

And the navigation is fully consistent with a round earth, unless you can prove otherwise.

How is that a flat Earth question or answer?

What navigation system do they use and is there any evidence it is not based on a round earth?  Question.

Then where are the pictures of the ice wall or edge of the earth?

That's the Barne Glacier in Ross Island Antarctica taken by Michael. J. Hambrey. You can climb over that and walk. Too bad for your attempt at using photographs of the coastline of Antarctica where many people have ventured and returned.

Look at this mountain behind the Jroa's ice wall:

I'm not trying to disprove gravity. I've succeeded in disproving it. It's called denpressure.

I was asked for a picture of the ice wall, and I provided one.  What exactly is your problem with my picture?  I think those might be NASA agents in those vehicles, too.

People not employed by Nasa including your pictures photographer M. J. Hambrey has ventured past this glacial wall. Or is all ice walls now The Ice Wall?

How is that a flat Earth question or answer?

Is the point of this forum that every post has to be a flat earth question or answer? Because that's a bit ridiculous (not least cos it means you can roll that out when someone makes a statement you can't justify according to flat earth theory).

Well, you happen to be in FE Q&A.  I will let you connect the dots.

Well, for starters, you did.

The  "Ice Wall" is simply an ice covered land mass that encompasses the known Earth.  It is not literally a wall made out of ice.

If the ice wall encompasses the known earth, by definition, what lies past it is unknown.  Therefore, no one has been past it.  So how could this possibly be The Ice Wall if people have been past it?

If I encompass your known neighborhood with caution tape, does that mean that the rest or the world does not exist?  I know you are just trying to be silly, but it seems to not be working for you.

This isn't a FE Q or A? (see what I'm getting at?)

Show me where I said nothing exists beyond a boundary?
I just stated that if the ice wall encompasses the known world, then outside that boundary is unknown.
Take your analogy for example.
If you grew up in that neighborhood, the known world would be encompassed by caution tape.  However, if the mayor of the neighborhood decided to find out what was beyond the caution tape, and mounted an expedition, once this expedition crossed the caution tape, the known world has expanded beyond the caution tape.  See what I'm getting at?

You can't say the ice wall encompasses the known world in one post and then the next post say that people have been beyond it.

So, then, we can agree that it would be possible to go past the ice wall, if it does exist?

All the pictures on these boards and all the descriptions in the FE FAQ seem to describe ice walls that have been discovered and navigated beyond.
They are all ice walls but since you can navigate from each of these walls across the South Pole, to another ice wall, why would you ever call them "The Ice Wall"?

Only if you agree that if people have passed it, if it does exist, then it would no longer encompass the known world.

If people have gone past it, then it is possible that it is not general knowledge what they saw, so, the known world would still be within it, right?
