The petri-dish Theory

Ok, ive been mulling things over for a few days now, trying to think of any possible motive that anyone would have for hiding the fact that the earth is round, and here is my best conclusion. Oh and by the way im a RE'er, but i just like being creative.

Ok, imagine that the reason for the whole "conspiricy" is so that something could be hid from the public, in this case the thing being hid being an entire civilisation that lives on a stretch of land spanning the whole circumfrence of flat earth. Similar to a group of scientists gathered round a petri-dish, this civilisation are monitoring everything that goes on in the rest of the world, wether it be for scientific gain or whatever, the rest of the world would be the test subjects.

This said it could even be argued that the worlds goverments do not know about flat earth, and that they have been tricked and manipulated by spies and espionage missions from this really advanced culture which surrounds us. They have infilltrated our society to such an extent that they know us better then we know ourselves. And the reason for a round earth conspiricy? To make the worlds biggest and most advanced continent dissapear. They could be jamming gps systems (or even running them), have satalites in space intercepting all mid-world satalites and manipulating them as they see fit etc. yeah well anyways thats the gist of it. Tell me what u think and any other possible add ons to this. Thanks!

Ps. sorry about the poor grammar and punctuation, too tired.

This is a really neat theory and would make for a really neat fiction story at the very least. I'll comment more later, gotta run.

For someone who believes that the Earth is flat based on no scientific evidence, you are very quick to dismiss a theory stated in your favour by a RE'er.

Its a good theory, and I can certainly see no reason why if the Flat Earth theory is true, this could also not be true. A goverment conspiracy inside a goverment conspiracy...neat!
he Earth is flat, surrounded by a wall of ice, guarded by Ice Wall Guards, and genetically engineered penguins walk around it...

...Can I laugh now?

Well Steven, I don't know if you were planning to elaborate on this, but it has made a good topic for a science fiction story.

See Issac Azimov's "Breed There a Man?" and Arthur C. Clarke's "Jokester" for some good examples.
"The earth looks flat; therefore it is flat."
-Flat Earthers

"Triangle ABC looks isosceles; therefore . . ."
