Just a possibile theory?
« on: December 18, 2010, 09:29:08 PM »
Well i was thinking about the rings around soem of the planets in our solar system.

maybe the earth is actually on a ring around the sun? That way it coul dbe flat and huge AND it would be possible to travel right around the earth in one direction (which many claim to have done) and end up at the other side...... though only the outside of the ring would be an icewall, not sure what the inside would be like.

Anyway we can test this theory by measuing the circumnaviagion of the poles: if one is (much) longer than the other we can calculate the truth of th this theory.

just throwing that idea out there because i don't think this has been discussed befoer. :D

You mean the 32 mile diameter sun that is 3000 miles away from the earth?  Or the RE sun that is 1,391,000 kilometers in diameter and 150,000,000 kilometers away?

The difference is zero, from numerous experiments.

...I think this forum would be a lot more fun if this was the theory.
